nah, I just put the wheels on for the pic, didnt bother to take the brake off (rode it single speed for a little while), need to get some power grips since cages dont fit me too well (size 16 shoe) and I have a set of track drops for the bike when I go to the drome

Here is a bike i've been building over the last couple of months.
Its a lightning 53cm frame with mainly nitto and sugino parts.

Some ano parts, but I tried to keep it fairly low key.
I know red deep v's are controversial, but I think they suit it ok.

I know I am going to catch heck from you guys but I really think this bike would look perfect with black deep-Vs. Leave everything else exactly as it is but add black deep-Vs, it would be so nice. And, as someone else said, that fork there is pretty much the whole reason god invented bicycling. Hawt.

Nooo deep V's on that beautiful chromed frame. It's perfectly understated as it is. It does need matching gum wall action on the front tire though.

No decals save for the little world stripes? I love it.

I removed the mirror-polished brake/lever for a trade and--for the nitpickers--the front wheel was flipped and I just never flipped the tire. Those are Canadian nickles acting as pedal caps, mais ce vélo est seperatist!

I finally got to taking a photo because a) it's f'ucking snowing today, b) it's now on the trading block, mainly to fund my next ride but also because I'm doing some overseas moving (not conducive to shiny Italian bikes).

I can assure you the Raleigh will never know the touch of a Deep-V! Like i said I just got it last week and have not put any time into it yet but the plan would be to go open pro in the rear with gatorskins in front and back, leave to 3 small decals, add the headbadge, eventually polish the cranks and stem and pray that no one ever tells me "nice pista" which has already happened about 5 times in 1 day!

It's shellac on white cork tape.

And yea, of course I considered gearing it, but at the time I wasn't in need of another geared bike. The crankset is originally a double, so it doesn't need much to be geared. Uno mas:

That saddle was probably my happiest eBay find ever. I've never seen one like it with that neato stitching. I'm tempted to keep it for my tarck bike.

It's a Super Contour Royal. Not sure who made it. Super shiny rails and very comfy.

that marinoni is absolutely stunning. i get the feeling that at some point in the future we'll see it built up as a proper road bike, and as much as i look forward to that, its a solid, prestigious build as a fixed gear.
