what about a rim with a deeper profile like an aero or something?

yeah i really like aero's they're just so damn expensive!

Otherwise.. a nice looking bike.

Pretty much everything is different now. I have a brake on the way in the mail, and bought old school shimano 600 pedals with clips n straps.
That setup was just with parts i had laying around, since then ive upgraded everything but frame/wheels.

jpdesjar 06-04-08 12:04 PM

the bike is great but it seems hard to choose a decent wheel set for it...has to be something unique
i think maybe some black rims would be fitting

blamire 06-04-08 12:19 PM

Riding fixed with plain pedals is an advanced fixed gear skill, only recommended for experienced fixed-gear riders.
thats from sheldon brown. why does everybody give stick to people who don't run clips? i know most of the time its good advice to a novice to get some clips, but don't take the piss out of them because its just possible they're a more skilled rider than you are.

Haven't ridden fixed for like 6 months, just got my new rear wheel. Rotafixed the cog, keeping an eye on the lockring.

Wheel specs: Dimension 36h fixed fixed, Velo Aero rim, 2mm straight spokes. Pretty good so far.

They probably are more skilled than I am.. and if so.. good for them. I like you, have heard that its not smart to do it. Just passing on the advice..

It used to be used to move derailers now its just there cause it looks better than the nub.

U R TEH NUB!!!

I painted this frame for my girlfriend, but cracked the frame trying to loosen up the seat post... I noticed some other weak spots in the frame so I guess it's better that she didn't get a chance to ride it.

With the wheels I was going to put on it

^^^^

Looks like a great paint job! Now just find another frame and do it again!!!

sammie. 06-05-08 10:13 AM

Thanks :)
And yeah, our friend makes track frames so she's getting a custom one that I'll get a chance to paint- thinking of changing up the paint job though

wearyourtruth 06-05-08 10:41 AM

you didn't take the seatpost out (or at least see if it was seized) before you painted it?

I know right. I could tell it was seized but though 'oh well, it's the right height and no one will be able to take it..' so after painting it tried taking it out again and that's when it cracked.. I would have painted it even if I had found that out before hand though just because I like painting.
It's amazing (but sucks) how easy it is to see the weak points with a fresh coat of paint.
