Nitto ADB X, rare as f$ck, wish I had a pair.

Yeah, I just randomly stumbled upon them at a bike shop in Detroit and I knew I had to have them. They totally outclass the rest of my bike, so I have to build up a nicer frame and put them on there.
I think I'll just build up this frame with old obscure parts. Anybody have any 144 BCD Sakae CR cranks? |
|
looks good. I'm hoping you know how to skip and stop that thing right? I coached two guys who did an alleycat and after, I found out they didn't know how to skip stop. I taught them on them spot how to do it because I thought they were crazy for not knowing how to.

walrus!
you bought the bars but not the stem?! nooooooooooooo!!! go back and get that crystal blue stem. do it do it do it. |
Nice bike. Nicer cranks! It's not bad with the black bike, but those cranks deserve a different chainring--or at least save them for a future build if you ever get rid of the IRO. I rarely see Suginos with cutouts in the spider.

They didn't have the crystal blue stem :(
|
nobody has the crystal blue stem
I have the bars too and have been searching for it for months. I almost bought an entire bike that was nowhere near my size just to get that stem off it. Seems like the yahoo.jp auctions are the most likely place to find one but I'm useless with trying to sift through them daily. |

Here's my freshly-dipped Track Pro. I've had it for more than a year, but it's got new paint/PC and some new parts. The PC was done by Winning Colors in New Lenox IL, (great work BTW) and the fork was done by Duane at Chester Cycles. I have CC Volos too, but there are Miche/Fusion clinchers on there now. I still have to re-glue the tubies.

The chainstay on my FTP doesn't look like that.
EDIT: the head tube and track ends are also different from mine, what year is yours?

Companies use to place dents in the chain stays to avoid frame damage when bikes were crashed. The flex from the cranks would cause it to slam directly into the chain stay, cracking it. Cannondale did the same thing for years.
Not sure why they stopped or if that's the case with the FTP. Before: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1231/...305892.jpg?v=0

hey, when they stripped the paint on your fuji, did then find a lot of bondo on the downtube? possibly covering up a large dent? or a "structural inconsistency" if you will?
...just curious. http://farm1.static.flickr.com/175/4...0d81eb.jpg?v=0 |

I like both of those a lot. Not a fan of radial spoking though...but other than that ****ing awesome.

Because I needed a sturdy commuter/tourer and can't afford a Steamroller:
http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/5d80f68d.jpg http://i104.photobucket.com/albums/m...s/bbaff75e.jpg Axiom Appalachian panniers not pictured. 28c Pasela Tourguards and a blue RELoad TT pad are on the way. |
Damn, that looks nice :)
|
Steamroller or not, thats a nice ride. Looks like it handles what it’s built for perfectly.

New wheels! 36h Phil SLR 3x laced to Mavic OP Ceramic. I use the IRO in all weather and I wanted to have a brake surface that was better for the rain as well. The surface definately stops you faster and I'm amazed at how much lighter and faster the bike feels now. With the A-spoke I rode a 50/17, but with the 50/16 I have now it feels the same. Crazy how a stiff wheels make it easier
