B123 flip n' snip?

you'll have better luck with the wrap stayin' put if you work toward the stem instead of starting there. with that wrap your hands will fray the edges as you change hand positions, but you probably already have seen that begun to happen, no?

Look at the 2nd picture in post 32121, it's indeed tape. Direction of the tape is correct, but just started from the wrong point.

Yes, it happened, but just once. But there are no second chances here, Keirin racing is tough on bikes and riders alike. But other bikes break too, my Cannondale developed a nasty crack on the top tube, and I had a seat stay become detached on a Kestrel.

Awkward bar angle, terrible taping job, top tube pad on a non-freestyle bike, seat not level, hideous stem, too long rear brake cable, no pedal retention... The list just goes on!
Seriously, do that frame justice and put it together right.

maybe they ran out of money after buying that frame and took a bunch of stuff from other bikes on the street.

stem-saddle-top tube pad-seat-taping = yeah....I see your point

but that looks like a single speed road-use built Nagasawa with proper drillings, and the color is very very nice.

in an ideal build for that I'd opt for some Campy or old Shimano metal cable guides and change the stem and saddle, but even as it stands I like it well enough (really such a nice color)

does the list go on? what more can you find to hate on?
i do agree that the seat needs adjustment, rear brake cable too sure.
but top tube pad is just to protect it when i park around the city. no pedal retention?
it's in road bike mode who cares.

1973 Nishiki conversion

Dad bought it new back in the day and rode it cross country. Hence, it doesn't deserve to collect dust in the garage. I'm super psyched on it.

i think pete j was trying to say you're not doing the frame justice. it's like you've taken a beautiful model and dressed her up in awkwardly mismatched ill fitting clothing. your bike looks uncomfortable. i don't mean uncomfortable to ride but the bike itself looks uncomfortable.

No idea why that picture came out so crappy. What's the easy way to post bigger pics on here. I couldn't figure out how to attach them except as thumbnails... and what's with the 100 kb limit. That sucks. How are you guys posting bigger pictures?

Yeah, what he said. Plus it does look uncomfortable to ride in that set-up.
I'd keep the wheels as is and then swap pretty much everything else to suit that awesome frame.
Or then swap everything over to something a bit more trashy!

to the chaps discussing bar tape on the bianchi: fizik also makes an 'antique brown' in their microtex perf tape, but it won't age like leather or shellaced cloth.

"Made." I got a box with my saddle, but they don't sell the bar tape seperately anymore. I emailed them, it's discontinued.

What are you talking about? Those are Cinelli Priest bars, not risers.
