but I'm kinda a dick so don't pay any attention to me.

I was thinking an SLR saddle would be a better fit for the build. Stem is fine.

that is ****ing awesome. what frame?

also, i love the clear/black superflash on the B4

SilentEdge 08-17-08 09:51 PM

This is how it started:

And this is how it sits now:

It's not done yet, still need to get the front brake on and make a few adjustments. I finished setting it up today and rode it around, and the chain needs to be tighter, the seat needs to be a couple inches higher, and the bar stem needs to be tightened because the handlebars were moving around a little bit.

I bought this track frame from the shop I used to work at. I have heard one story that it's nameless Taiwanese fare and another story that it is high-end ridiculousness. The welds are very nice, and downtube and chainstays are ovalized/flattened. The tag says "Maccici" but I know that's wrong. I don't actually care, as it's an art-project of a build, but I would like to know. It's Titanium, 60st x 58tt.

Sure looks like a GT. Don't know if they sold an over-the-counter track bike but they did supply the US Olympic team among others...

cc700 08-17-08 10:08 PM

GT made two off the shelf track bikes, the pulse and GTB.

the triple triangle design with the seatstays bisecting the top tube has been used by many many other manufacturers.

i don't think the olympic team ever used titanium bikes, so i don't think you're right at all. a lot of titanium bikes are custom made so that only makes it less likely that you're right.

My Trek 560 fixed gear. Weinmann DP18's on 700x23 tires, Shimano 105 crank running 42/16. Just added the nashbar bullhorns a few days ago, but I still need to put on the bullhorn brake levers. Anyways, I'm loving it so far :)

elmoloveftl 08-18-08 03:25 AM

Still a mystery

Come on... I was expecting better than "it looks like a GT" GT's all had a tube-end hanging out of the back of their triple-triangle. (look at any GT) I wondered if it was a lost prototype for GT, but it's not even a possibility. Again: any Ideas? The dropouts are crazy-thick, if that helps.

elmoloveftl 08-18-08 03:36 AM

I'll post the pic when I build it up. I've got Ti -spindle Rotor cranks, a B-17 Ti-rail Brooks, A Titec flat-bar, a litespeed stem, a Ti seatpost, Velocity Deep-V orange "Swimmer" rims... I will call her fertiliTi (Take a moment, think it over, if you don't get the joke, it's really cuz you suck.)

deathhare 08-18-08 03:38 AM

Youre gonna put a Brooks and Veep Ds on that hot ass frame? :(

I've since adjusted the seat/bar angles (both were tilted up slightly) and dropped the seat a few mm + its got a saddle pack, water bottle holder and cats eyes lights on the front and back

(suburbs)

also, I am 6'4 and YES I realize the frame is massive

Gorgeous. I love the splash of silver in the in the drive-train on an otherwise blacked-out bike.
