Yeah not a fan of that chain.

line up the tire labels, and lose the velocity stickers.
|
Can we all stop playing armchair bike critics and let people post their pride and joy?
|
no.
the velocity stickers are preference. the tire labels aren't. |

Here's my pride and joy. It's a conversion that I built up on my own with my own money, and I'm open to constructive criticism about the build (but the aesthetics are my own, so those who hate it are s.o.l :p )
The bike was free from my uncle, and it's a early/mid 80s Schwinn World Sport. And yes, it is a little big, but the proper adjustments have been made. http://img207.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ikeshottm7.jpghttp://img207.imageshack.us/img207/7066/bikeshottm7.jpg http://img178.imageshack.us/my.php?i...linetoott3.jpghttp://img178.imageshack.us/img178/9...linetoott3.jpg http://img230.imageshack.us/img230/259/chainlineng2.jpg Actually I was just too dumb to figure imageshack on my own :P http://img355.imageshack.us/my.php?i...ainlinetm5.jpg |

I took so much time building this thing, to make it exactly the way I wanted. i hope my bike's aesthetic value goes a bit beyond the way the tire labels line up. I think everybody should feel free to express opinions, but that doesnt give anyone the right to say what's decided by preference, and what is just "right." Actually, I appreciate knowing how poeple feel about the chain, as I wasn't sure about it myself. That said, as the one who paid for and rides my bike, I picked that chain because it was the one I wanted. |
if it works for you rock whatever you want. its a nice bike--
when you put it up on a board though people are going to comment, just because they can, and thats part of what goes on in a forum. here's a funny rant about lining up labels with valves among other OCD trips: http://www.trackstarnyc.com/web2/askzach.php btw nice build overall |
that merckx looks battle ready--
i personally would be worried about impaling myself on those bar ends but overall it is dope as **** |
ah they arent bar ends mate. lock on mtb grips. secure as hell and dont pose any threat to the mid section, throat, or thigh.
|
yeah you're right
I must've wanted the commentary on some level, considering that I put the bike up. I do think declaring that something isn't preference is a bit over the line, though. next time ill make my pictures a little more hipster-happy and line up the labels. I guess I don't disagree. thanks about the build. I love it to death. |
