take an acetylene torch to it to remove the brazing. should come right off.

though that looks like a nice frame. it would be shame to modify it permanently, but hey, it's yours. just screw something on to it. i've seen a baby doll arm once. totally creepy.

my friend did this, just the torch and some vice grips, came off with no problem, then filed smooth, after paint it looks like they were never there.
