that's a really classy langster. i approve :)

Alex Steezeman 11-28-08 11:54 PM

Thanks man, I was kinda aiming for that but I didn't think I'd be able to pull it off. The seat and the bars add with that haha.

ZiP0082 11-29-08 12:14 AM

Alex Steezeman: that Soma Rush looks great -- what's the wheelset?

carbonjockey 11-29-08 12:45 AM

azfixed ftw!
(i am making bob sagget spoke cards if anyone wants one)

Alex Steezeman 11-29-08 12:52 AM

Dude I already got a stencil made, but I'm down for some spoke cards.

Zip dude, they're Bontrager somethings, I'm not sure. My friend got it from the shop like that, they did it up all fancy. Actually I think they're the Bontrager track wheels. They're pretty sweet though.

These two bikes have already been posted in this thread individually, and I couldn't help but post this one too. It's from a few days on top of a parking garage in Toronto, when my brother and I were out on a ride.

Hey Alex, what kind of handlebars are on your white bike? Are they a lot wider than typical drop bars? I like those a lot.

The front rack throws me ... do you use panniers on the bike in its current setup?

I did use it indeed, for my former commute during the summer. It was around 15km on dirt roads mainly. I used to carry a change of clothes, shoes, towel, etc. When I got this bike I found out that my old rear rack did not fit due to the 29" wheels, so I started using the front rack because I had it laying around. It made the steering heavy, like riding a motorcycle at low speeds. My jobsite moved and now I live and work in the city.

Although it may look like the panniers were packed full, they were actually half empty. I could have used only one pannier, but it made the bike very unstable.

Ahh, okay. I pictured you hitting the singletrack with that setup and was wondering how it would even be possible to avoid bailing constantly ...

They're Soma Mustache bars, which are a essentially a cheaper copy of the Nitto Mustache bars. They're about 4" wider than my old drops which where pretty large, or so I thought. The site says they're 550mm c-c, and it feels really nice.

If not fixed, would you need 2 brakes (for safety)?
