You guys don't find that in the summer with riding a couple hours per day you can drink all the beer, smoke all the pot and eat all the **** food you want and still be skinny?

****, half the motivation for riding so much is so I can abuse my body but still be physically fit, haha

OK so finally got it all set up with homemade *mudflaps. Making fenders is pretty nice. I don't use bottle holders on the frame because I don't find it safe to reach down when on a fixed, so it's much easier to reach behind

Please tell me that's a line you took :o I woulda crapped my pants doing it on that bike :) no cross levers and the fact that the line I see only lasts about 10 feet down that hill. I'd want a hard tale for that for sure, but man that looks like such a blast!!

gkelley 03-07-09 03:21 PM

Holy padding on those bars

cc700 03-07-09 03:23 PM

they're aero.
like these: http://www.bicyclebuys.com/productim...610065PART.jpg

i.e. that's not padding, it's the shape of the bar.

Hah, not so much. The drop from the edge of the grass to the eroded soil was about six feet and the soil was basically fuffy mud. ;)

gkelley 03-07-09 03:41 PM

haha ok that makes since after seeing the link to the bars, sweet bike though

A see a chain tensioner on vertical dropouts, does that work well?
Also looks like theres only one on there.

As the others have pointed out, the crosscheck has long horizontal dropouts so it makes converting easy. The Surly tuggnut is perfect for conversion frames and works on them all. You really only need one

Just changed out my tires which were pretty beat and I switched from 700x25 to some 700x23.

I kinda wish my LBS had these in a different color, but I don't think they look too bad.

Gyeswho 03-07-09 08:12 PM

those tires look great with that bike. What kind of tires are those?

cc700 03-07-09 08:20 PM

well, the celeste and the techno lights totally clash with the otherwise beautifully classic bike, but hey- can't ride without tires and lights.

unless you're these guys http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yfRekj46Vq8

I kinda feel the same... The celeste is a bit bright, but it was the only color they had. I wish there were some beige colored tires, but alas beggars can't be choosers.

As for the lights... I gotta ride with them despite the ugliness :(

Added a set of Armadillos, wrapped my chop and flops, and plugged them with wine bottle corks. Waddya think?

cyrano138 03-07-09 09:04 PM

Tigerpawn,

What kind of bag (tied under your seat) are you using? I know someone put a link to their website once, but I can't for the life of me find it anywhere. Thanks.

It's from Acorn Bags. Really great folks and I love their bags.
