Ooooh! I know who you are now! You've got the awesome bumblebee bag! And you've got yourself one hell of an elegant ride. That's seriously a real beauty, and I can see why you are proud.

I'm ornery_chick over on LJ/bikepirates.

I've been lurking the SS/Fix forum on account of I'm looking for a conversion candidate and stockpiling tips and pitfalls before I go do something stupid :P

For an abused bike in her previous life, she sure looks like she's going strong now. Lovely. She looks brand new.

That is a gorgeous machine man. Congrats.

Holy crap! That's a nice looking bike. That is one NJS keirin frame I would actually ride (and not just because its my size ;) ).

Congrats, J-.

Spectrum did a great job.

BTW, so, like, where's the brake...?

chimblysweep 10-20-05 01:14 PM

the brake is hanging out with the derailleurs, shifters, brazeons, and cable bosses. at a bar of their choosing. drunk.

absntr 10-20-05 01:27 PM

By the way - where's the full side shot? I want to see her in full frame widescreen glory.

chimblysweep 10-20-05 01:47 PM

tink...? he was the master photographer on this. my camera ate it in a polo match.

but the clearance isn't as tight, nor the angles as hot, as on your colnago. and the way small frames look slack, well... i'm short and need to get over it.

oh, and for comparison, here are some nasty before photos (look at those poor dented seatstays!)

sashae 10-20-05 01:49 PM

Circle takes the square!

Gat damn. I feel better about potentially entrusting my beat Rensho frame to Spectrum now... BEAUTIFUL work.

Congrats and enjoy it in good health!

wangster 10-20-05 01:53 PM

how much did it come out to with all the work and decals? I'm trying to think ahead for the future when my sanrensho gets 'weathered'.

Sashae, that panasonic is sexy as hell, I love those seatpost clamps on those bikes. Redmenace has a blue one like yours, hot bikes.

$435 was decals, stripping, dent filling, powdercoat, decal install, clearcoat, and shipping home.
tip: get yer decals NOW.

wangster 10-20-05 02:01 PM

Damn!!! $435 is more than what I paid for the frame. I was thinking about buying decals for stockpile but 80 is a lot for stickers. Spectrum is expensive, but well worth it, they do some of the best work. I guess I'll just have to take care of my baby and not scratch it up. No more riding to work on it, back to the IRO for commutes.

Oh I know they did an amazing job, its just a lot of money, plus my bike is pretty pristine rightnow so I have no reason to even think about a paintjob anytime in the near future. I would totally take my frame to them if and when the time comes. so when are you gonna take her up our way to NYC for a ride? I know of a few 3renshos around the city.

Thanks :) That's the frame I keep complaining about having a hard time finding parts for... the flatted-axle, 110-spaced dropouts in the rear are going to kill me. Respacing to 120 is a consideration, and I'm not too worried about doing that... but finding a flatted axle. Argh! On top of that, it (of course) takes a 27.0 seatpost, of which there is minimal selection out there...

Edit: A large reason of why I bought that frame (not being that into Panasonics in general) was the seat cluster... it's even more beautiful in person.

chimblysweep 10-20-05 02:24 PM

jaguars come in 27.0 seatpost...

sashae 10-20-05 02:30 PM

I'm a big luh-huh-hoozer when it comes to the seatpost, and the Jaguar costs -bank-. I've already splurged on the crankset, so I'm not sure if I can bring myself to do it ;)

I hear ya, thats probably one of my favorite seatclusters of all time. That'd be the biggest reason for me to pick a panasonic over something else if I ever buy another keirin frame. Chimbly's seatcluster on the 3rensho is similar, but the panasonic's is just so smooth and seamless, beautiful work on those frames.

Chimbly, those jaguar seatposts are nice, but crazy expensive. I just got a used miche supertype seatpost from mattlikebikes. Thats one sexy seatpost and I love the way it looks on the keirin frame.

Got any extras, or want to mention where you got them from? :)
