the curve is super comfortable. i actually chopped off about 2" on the ends. they were huge (like the cinelli LA 84's)

Had to add the bell. got tired of always yelling at people. it's nice and loud!

the bullhorns make me sad.. but the bike rules.. that frame and fork were already ruling without the gold(silver)fronts.. what campy rims are those?

how about a whistle, a la laurence fishburne in "quicksilver"?

edit: i do like the bullhorns...i thought they looked like a good flip and chop job.

yarr 04-24-06 08:26 PM

what size are those bullhorns?

dubteka 04-24-06 10:46 PM

sloppy: rims are campy omicron.
humancongereel: hell yah. i thought about a whistle too.
yarr: bullhorns are 39cm ctc

this is the pic where i first saw the 3TTT bullhorns, and had to have them (these are the full length, i chopped a little bit off mine)

tied and soldered? nah, might switch out the rims for some campy aero rims...
thanks though!

Switch rims?! Why not just do another wheelbuild? That's half the fun of doing a new bike build..

sxe fbm rider 04-25-06 08:31 AM

I had a run-in with the back of a car. It's back to a conversion for me.. Very sad about that..

Good news is the front wheel is still true. Go IRO.

Shiznaz 04-25-06 08:36 AM

holy moly! I hope you're alright... I had to do a double take of that bike as at first glance it looked like some kind of wierd alt tall-bike. What kind of frame is that? I have not heard of Paris Sport before... my condolences to your bike... Now you get to look for a new one!

kisha 04-25-06 08:41 AM

that bike did not compute for at least 10 seconds. I'm glad you're alright!

Jesse M 04-25-06 08:59 AM

jeeez man, i'm sorry. at least you seem alright. that was a nice looking build, though.

even though the circumstances aren't great, seeing this makes me even happier with my iro/deep v wheels. bombproof!

Hope it wasn't a Cuevas or Moulton built bike. Glad you're ok, sorry about the bike...

Ouch, that sucks. Glad you're alright.

operator 04-25-06 10:24 AM

Well you could get that fixed, 2 x tubes might be expensive though.

sxe fbm rider 04-25-06 10:36 AM

Yea, I'm allright. Pissed about the bike of course. I'm puting together a conversion tonight.. The frame is too small for me, but it has cranks and a headset so I can transfer my parts without alot of effort. I have no money right now so I will eventually get a new track frame that's worth me getting the stronglight cranks off the paris sport..

circlecity 04-25-06 01:57 PM

wouldnt it be better to taco a front rim than bend a frame?
i mean, rebuilding a front wheel seems like a lot less cash than replacing a frame you really like.

Do people have a choice in these matters?

^oZ 04-25-06 02:26 PM

Well, I recon with a relatively weak frontwheel you'd destroy your wheel instead of your frame..

Shiznaz 04-25-06 02:49 PM

you mean your wheel as well as your frame?

griffin_ 04-25-06 03:49 PM

i bet a front brake would have helped to prevent that
i hate to nitpick though

+1. i've heard several people saying how their deep v survived an impact while the frame didn't, like it was a good thing. yet another reason not to buy one imo.

just as cars have crumple zones, i'd rather lose a $50 rim than a $1000 frame.

I bet, in that given accident, both the wheel and the frame would have bit the dust. The best option would to have just said "screw it, Im not going to stop in time" and tilt the wheel and try to kick the bike from under you and land on the trunk. whats dont is done though, sucks about the frame.

dokushoka 04-25-06 07:00 PM

Hey Fabian, what kind of camera did you shoot this with? The bike looks KILLER.

dolface 04-25-06 09:00 PM
