Because they suck a lot less then track ends if you're running a rear brake? Or in general, really.

im not sure I understand how the brakes and the drop outs relate...

With typical track ends, as you reposition the wheel in the dropouts, you have to readjust your brake pads. With horizontal ends brazed on at the proper angle, you keep the rim aligned with the pads as it moves. It's kinda cool.

Interesting. It's a beauty of a bike anyways, I just had some crappy experiences with my conversion and wheel slippage on horizontal dropouts. However as long as it's ridden the hell out of more power.

Yeah, that's exactly why they did it.

I'd still rather have horizontal dropouts than trackends, though.

Also pulling the wheel out for a puncture if you have mudguards is alot easier on forward facing dropouts than trackends.

Thats a sweet bike. I think you should either get some tan bar tape and saddle to match the hoods(super classy), or black hoods to match the tape. Otherwise, I'd love to have a bike that nice.

that's so made by IF. and I can't stand their top tube slant, it kind of really annoys me.

There's still a good 5 cm saddle-stem drop on that Phil Wood, so it's not as if all hope is lost.

is there some colorchange **** happening on those blue rims or is it just the light? colorchange paint on deep v's would be both glorious and disgusting me thinks! :D
