Assuming you use them, some less radical drops would probably help. Cool though they look, track drops aren't nearly as comfortable as road drops for any extended riding. Judging from the seat height, the bike looks to be the right size for you. Maybe a shorter stem would help as well.

Here's the Fuji Track I built up on saturday, it rides beautifully and is very pretty.

What bullhorns are those?

EDIT: The Fuji, that is...

They are Profile Design time trial bars, I don't know the model though.

Thanks.

That Fuji track looks great, as does the "too small" red one, but the "uncomfortable" bareknuckle looks like something I would build, had I the cash. What size frame is that bareknuckle? I want a little one, too, in that color.

Where is it uncomfortable? Butt or back? If it's the butt, work on saddle position and maybe the saddle itself. If it's the back/arms/hands, get a shorter/more rise stem, and maybe try risers. These are my diagnosises.

the bareknuckle is a 48 i believe. latino's are tiny people so a tiny frame. well i was measured for the bike even though i ride a 50 on other bikes. then, the shop insisted on a stem that was 110 mm. i thought that was crazy. i wanted 90 mm since i'm not racing anywhere soon. my back hurts so much when i ride it. i need to have the seatpost up that high or i get cramps in my legs. but the length of the stem causes me to be so far from the handlebars. i don't really use the drops so i think i'm going to get bullhorns. it hurts me to look at bike on sunny days cause i want to ride, but i am way to uncomfortable on that damn thing.

sr20det - another amazing marinoni. if you come across anything in 58cm size, let me know! love those frames a whole, whole lot.

TNCLR 07-05-06 06:14 PM

sr20det - Beauty. Nice to see some old school Campy/Cinelli parts accompanying that frame.

ink1373 07-05-06 06:21 PM

nice sr20det. that makes this only the third marinoni i've seen that sports the maple leaves instead of the circle-M. very nice. makes me want to bid on the nice tall marinoni road bike on ebay...

operator 07-05-06 06:45 PM

sr20 had a 58 marinoni

sr20det 07-05-06 06:57 PM

thanks for the compliments guys!
its going to take a while to build up cause I don't work at a shop anymore (no tools at home) and at the new job, I only get paid on a monthy basis :(

I've scored the two Marinonis on www.canadiancyclist.com
both were awesome deals. & the currency dealt there is CANADIAN!

crust & crumb 07-05-06 06:58 PM

sr20det- personally, i think your marinoni ought to be left as period-correct. the frame looks very steep (and wonderfully so). it's one of the most pleasing track irons i've seen.

cheers

sloppy robot 07-05-06 07:12 PM

just to toss in an opposing view...why would you want that old campy stuff when you could be riding the new campy stuff? it looks better too!

sorry..had to let it out..the old campy cranks make me limp

had this bike for about a year, just never bothered to photograph it. here's a mediocre shot of it.
fuji frame
iro/aerohead rear, shimano 105/mavic cxp-22 front
sugino xd crankset
spoke reflector things that i found placed on my bike after a night at a local community festival

i don't know man. You shouldn't make general assumptions about latinos because they come in all sizes and colors. Look at me I am 6'1, skinny and really light skinned.
