haha, the baseboard does mess up the picture.

If you mean the angle of the bars, they're not adjusted properly right now. They're tilted back too far, I just installed them and shot the picture before fine tuning it. That and the stem is a little long for me(see the trade thread if you can help).

Otherwise, I've got no problems. It's not great for really long rides, but I've got risers that I swap out for that. The stem offers a lot of rise if I flip it, so I've got no problem making myself comfortable.

I don't think the baseboard messes it up at all!!! I mean, it gives a jarring appearance, but I find it really cool. You should definitely get this on FGG, I'm sure it will get drooled over :)

I'm afraid the kind of components I've got in my parts bin wouldn't do justice to your bike (see my new fixie a few posts above... looks like yours stole the show ).

Sorry, the chain, the chainring and the hubs broke because they were crap or installed/maintained by a moron/damaged in a crash etc.
Wheels do flex, though.

+1. 2000+ watts from a pro track sprinter won't break any decent properly installed components.

how the **** would you know?
chain was a pc-1, fairly new. the only link i broke was to size the chain, off the end with the quick link. it busted in the middle. must be the moron who maintained it.

the hub was a surly, and i check my lockrings regularly.

the chainring probably was my fault.

you can stick your judgemental attitude up your slovenly hungarian arse.

LóFarkas 08-29-06 11:31 AM

Chain was likely faulty out of the factory or damaged in a crash. Or else, you're an elephant. Maybe a gorilla. Humans certainly don't have the strength to break a good PC-1... Maybe with a 180 crank and a 22 chainring, while blocking the movement of the rear wheel or something.

Pretty stock Jamie Roy except for the Michelin tires. Cinelli bar wrap, inner-tubes on the TT and DT so college life doesn't do too much damage, and 46/17 for the hills of New York.

Got a black Bareknuckle in the process of being built up. I'll post it when It's done.

Yes! Sweet BMX frame. What is it? Specialized? The front hub is awesome.

apt13 08-29-06 05:15 PM

the bmx is a mosh cruiser. giant makes mosh i believe. all the components are GT, including the hubs. it's a good time, but at 6'5" it's a bit hard on me after awhile.

rustang 08-29-06 06:06 PM

christ. how long is that stem? thing looks like it's about to fall out.

phoenix 08-29-06 06:06 PM

What size stem is that, mm wise?

EAI Bareknuckle
52cm
Sugino 75 cranks and BB
Thompson seatpost and stem
Selle Italia SLR
Deda Pista bars
Deep-Vee's laced to Formulas

Lovin' this bike. I built it up to be beefy and stiff, hence the Thompson setup. Despite it's girth it is still relatively light and responsive on the track. I'd recommend a bareknucle to anyone, it's truly a great ride. Great wheel-build by Marcus at YoJimbos too. I even t-boned this bike into a speeding car a few weeks after I got it and it was unscathed, gotta love steel. I built it to be a track and street bike, and it's been great as both.

ha. the nitto technomics are really long, so you can really stick them out. i'm still playing with the right stem height and saddle height. as i said i'm 6'5" so it takes some fiddling. it does look like it could pop out at any second...haha, but trust me it's nowhere near the max. recommended for the tall kids who want their bars up. i'm not too concerned with looking like i'm holding onto my forks while riding. bedning down like that would kill my back. i'm old.

The Beard 08-30-06 12:25 AM

yeah i got some high resols of those if yall want them.
