iro mark v with blah blah seat post, stem, wheels, crankset.
i wish....i just wish it were just a lil' more pimpish. like if i were to give it away to a poor person. cause i like poor people and everything but sometimes i just look at them and think to myself "god, are you ever poor. and because of it, you have bad taste in bikes. i should give you mine"

but then i realize that poor people are hella lazy and stupid.

I'm pretty sure this is a Spectrum frame. The only other one I've seen like it was being sold by a guy in San Jose, CA.

Here's their site, although you're unlikely to find anything that resembles that on there:

Here's a crappy camera phone pic from my ride on Saturday. This is Logboom Park at the North end of Lake Washington.

Now hold on a second there, skippy. I like that bar. A flipped rizzzer bar, is it?

kludge 12-18-06 02:03 PM

sorta. they arent nitto's but nitto makes an alum version.

peep em at http://www.jitensha.com/

the nitto version has no rise/drop like these un's.
but any comfort bike bar flipped will do. just make sure they have a decent rise/drop

hahah. i was wondering if anybody would pick up on that. im sorry but im laughing as i type this. i have bad humour judgements. occasionally i let the odd/tasteless humour free.

DasProfezzional 12-18-06 02:45 PM

Quite. The slick bars drew my attention away from the text.

kludge 12-18-06 02:47 PM

Yairi from the winter cycling forum posted his new winter rig. I thought it was so freaking sweet I took the liberty to cross post it here.

It seems to me you were being sarcastic, and so I didn't say a word. And I am new.

Jealous!

dirtyphotons 12-18-06 03:29 PM

i'm generally of the "do what you want with your bike but that's not how i'd use it" camp. even with that there are exceptions (if i were slowly hoarding parts to build the bike up right, for instance). but yeah, i'm mostly just jealous.

endform 12-18-06 03:30 PM

I would suggest normal chain rather than some ridiculously heavy bmx thing. If you're worried about breaking a chain put your mind to rest if you know how to properly install a chain.

As long as the bosses and cables guides stay on, I think it's ok. Though something inside me feels wrong seeing REALLY nice roads bikes as converts.

Still a sick bike.

They have some at Velocipede, just picked one up in fact. They're not as shiny, though.

Thanks. I took a second picture that showed the bike better, but this was by far the nicer of the two. It was about as nice a day for a ride as we've had in a month here in Seattle.

I have that chain, its not alll that heavy, it looks super sweet, its the most adjustable chain on the market and damn its strong.

Again, I gotta say it.

Jealous!

jealous that he has an awesome road frame? yes.

perplexed about why he would turn it into an average conversion? oui.

i agree that people should simply enjoy their bikes and do what they want with them. i just know that if i had that bike, i'd get much more enjoyment out of it as a road bike, and riding a fixed bike that was meant to be fixed. as long as he doesn't do anything to **** it up and prevent it from being turned back into the road machine it was meant to be, then no harm no foul.
