I thought you had a Fuji Track and a Team Raleigh?

Cool bike nonetheless.

Serendipper 12-07-06 10:40 PM

Thank you, babychris. Nice seat and....oh! Dura-Ace!:)

Leave the computer right now, and plug your bars. I don't care if you have to use a bar of soap, or old earwax...GO NOW!!!!

Those reflective barcaps Rivendell sells would pwn all.

Shiznaz 12-07-06 10:41 PM

I have one of those saddles in blue, except mine has black scuff guards on the sides. I covered them in shoe goo to make them waterproof. it doesn't match the bike its on anymore so its a freakshow.

my vote is that both these pics remind me of that one scene in the birdcage..."madonna, madonna, madonna!"

that orange iro looks sweet! i agree with serendipper....bar plugs are definitely in order. are you gonna wrap the bars? i assume you're riding those dura ace hubs on the street.....how do they ride?

mdmbkr 12-08-06 01:07 AM

Well, I changed the bar tape, and added a brake, and took some junk off the bike, so that's an excuse for me to repost it!

Kooky bars but the matching rims makes the bike.

Loooty 12-08-06 02:16 AM

Is that paint detailing or blood smeared on the top tube?

Fugazi Dave 12-08-06 03:08 AM

Damn I love twisted spoke wheels. Who built them and how do they ride?

Sammyboy 12-08-06 03:26 AM

You may or may not LOVE this. I was gonna part it out, keep the frame, and build a flat bar fix, but it's so nice as it is. It may get a track wheelset as and when I have one to spare, (because who knows, I might like it SS?) but I think it's a keeper.

Aeroplane 12-08-06 07:02 AM

Chromed lugged frame... white saddle and white-hooded aero levers... zebra tape... I want this bike. Too bad it's probably a 58-60cm frame.

Serendipper 12-08-06 07:48 AM

The bike is coming along swimmingly, Sammyboy. What's not to love?

I also love the Randonnuer bars and french blue paint on this bike. This is how I was going to build up that '56 Puegeot Porteur we found in London.(But with flared colour-matched fenders.)
I need one of those seats. Must cop one the next time I'm in Europe. Japan still makes them new I believe.

rpc180 12-08-06 08:20 AM

Nice ride! Better bring that to DC sometime! Orange IRO and that DA hub looks awesome.

Sammyboy 12-08-06 08:39 AM

You're right Aeroplane - it's actually a 61. Serendipper, I don't know what's not to like, but people always used to manage. Brakes? Braze ons? I think it's pretty much the sweetes thing ever.....

Yes, yes it is....:)

barba 12-08-06 09:47 AM

What frame is that Sammyboy? It is a good looking piece of steel.

jonb 12-08-06 10:00 AM

This bike is great. the blue on blue, wheels and frame, is killing it. great idea!

I actually don't know. The guy I got it from bought it in Italy, believing it to be Columbus SLX, but now believes it isn't. I need to get the number off the BB and try to find out. If anyone has any good guesses, I'd appreciate it!

Sammyboy 12-08-06 10:11 AM

Oh. And also? I LOVE those Randoneurr bars.

ryand 12-08-06 10:13 AM

if you take out the seat post and use a light to look down the inside of the tubing, slx has a spiral inside the tubing (or so that was how i understood it when larry black was talking to us about slx)
