Keeper. Definitely a keeper.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck. That chain is superb.

Edit: Isn't it supposed to block that?

onetwentyeight 12-08-06 08:43 PM

i guess with enough U's you can get away with it :)

DoshKel 12-08-06 08:45 PM

Hehe.

You going to keep everything?

onetwentyeight 12-08-06 08:47 PM

for the time being, yes. I am in the middle of a few trades right now and it depends what I end up with and what i want to do next. deffinately not gonna ride that chain, but i'd love to put together an inch pitch group for fun.

DoshKel 12-08-06 08:50 PM

Sweet.

That would be fun. I've always wanted to build a bike out of an old inch pitch or something.

Why can't any bike shop I've been in have some of the most absurd finds just waiting for me?

onetwentyeight 12-08-06 09:08 PM

i was there almost an hour before i talked him into letting me raid the basement. im still surprised i got away with it.

Was that your first time in there? It seems like some shop owners would be pretty protective of their stash..

onetwentyeight 12-08-06 09:31 PM

id been in there a few times, but its definitely not a shop i frequent. normally they are a bit overpriced and snobby, and since i do all my own mechanics i never have any reason to go in there. however they have been around since the 40s and i just started going off about old bikes till the guy at the counter decided i was legit... they were having a sale to get rid of some overstock, so i think that worked in my favor.

Morgie 12-08-06 10:49 PM

I just finished building up a new conversion from a freebie ride I got on CL..

I would say so... it's not bad considering the price, the fenders and wheelset are from another ride, all I bought for it was a chainring, paint, and chain

all parts from the junk bin except new spokes and the rear hub is a ss cassett w/ disc brake (soon to be bolt on cog fixed)

three leading three trailing wheels front and back and steel rims

DoshKel 12-08-06 11:20 PM

Cool picture and sweet build Morgie.

Can't wait 'till I get a camera so I can try photography out.

jet sanchEz 12-09-06 12:23 AM

Morgie, email that picture to the guy that gave you the frame, it will put him in a good mood to see that it has been put to good use. Seriously.
