it's my mag and I don't even pay myself...

sorry for the shameless self-promo..
but - considering the amount of attention the bike gets when I lock it up, It was well worth putting the logo on it.

How often does it rain there? Well, moreso, what is the climate and weather like regularly?

dublin city gets the least amount of rainfall in ireland. this week its a mild 11deg celcius which is nice this time of year, get up to 25 in summer, the weather is really erratic- rain, sleet wind then sunny after lunch, never goes below freezing really, you wouldnt get a foot of snow overnight ever but youd never get uncomfortable in summer, come over for the worlds and il give u a place to crash.

Bike cops in london are trained to do so.

Downhill MTB stem and bars

Truvativ Hussefelt for both, bars are oversized, and chopped.

Shortest stem I could find (30mm)!

Sweet! If you're around on Thursday nights for Thrashin' Thursdays, we meet at Love Park at 10pm. I'm working during the day, but I'll let you know about weekend rides when the weather starts to get nicer.

My ride at the moment, Tommy Godwin Track 55x55, Mavic Ellipse, Cinelli stem/drops, Fizik world champ ed, Thomson post, ??? cranks (found but 165), running 52x20

dudeman 02-28-07 09:53 PM

damn that ****s tight.
the top tube protector looks great.
the chain tensioner looks terrible

sniks 02-28-07 10:13 PM

almost looks like there is toe overlap when the cranks are straight up and down ......but looks great

Corcis 02-28-07 11:14 PM

Dexter: I love the seattube/top tube/seat stay junction, it's great. The stem looks a bit out of place, but otherwise it's hot.

br995 03-01-07 12:16 AM

You can actually turn that front wheel?

dexterflexter 03-01-07 12:52 AM

Yep I can turn that wheel, massive massive massive toe overlap, biggest ive seen,so far but subconsciously u get used to turning without severe bashing.
Chain tensioners arent really neccesary, since the axle is all the way in on the drop outs, but it saves my frame from being scratched from the axle bolts.
I think I am achieving the criteria set out on http://oldskooltrack.com/files/what.is.frame.html
anyway a matter of opinion.
I discovered the top seatube lug is common for english style framebuilding and tommy was a birmingham builder.

got the leather top tube protector on ebay, if anyone is interested http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...6130&rd=1&rd=1

heres another photo, previously with straight forks drilled for a brake.

cops in london are trained to do that? interesting.

i've seen lots of bike cops in various places in the us, and i don't think they're trained to do that. seems to me that cop bikes are more for carrying a bunch of gear and having an officer seem both mobile and approachable/feet-on-the-ground, rather than for chasing people on bike.

How many complete track bikes do you own, Mr. White? The kids want to know.

abeyance 03-01-07 07:04 AM

Great looking bike Mr White, but am I the only one who is nervous about that rear wheel?
