Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

here are two bikes that have not been in this thread yet.
pogliaghi - 90's basso i believe it is. really rusty and beat and has a fairly low bb to boot. but i love it.

orero - argentinian made 531 with some nice chromed lugs and ends and what have you. one day i took it out in the rain and the decals peeled off.

You need Argentinian-made Saavedra rims on that Orero. or do you have em already? VERY nice stuff, btw.

Trons - both bikes have that perfect amount of wear from use that makes them all the sexier.

that reminds I had a pair of Saavedra Featherweights or was it featherlights? Anyway, the point is I had a pair of their rims.
I, also, have their headset which is actually really smooth and awesome.
If anyone needs one, I have access to Saavedra needle bearing headsets.

Where in this thread did you see this bike? It's exactly like one that was just for sale at the LBS but went on ebay..

its a climbing bike. at 18-22% grade the rider's back is 'level'. the position gives a good view of the road surface.
