I'll go ahead and chime in on the Merciers stock wheels and pickup wall ball games. For better or worse two things I know all too well.

The Mercier stock wheels are junk. I mean really just horrible. Take everyones advice here and make that your priority. That said, the green Mercier looks great, and is a fantastic value. I love it, and on the plus side I'm getting a lot of experience truing wheels.

Now, about the only thing better than a hot-green Mercier is a good old fashioned game of wall ball. Does anyone play out west? One thing I miss about Boston (...aside from my friends and family of course) is midnight wall ball games.

Found one today. Nitto Jaguar. About $70. Not sure if that's a rip-off or not, but I figured I may not find one before I leave so I got it.

If you read my Makino thread, there is no way in hell I'm biking all the way back out there just to buy a few stems. I'll see if Kalavinka has some in any size; I only asked about 27.0 last time I was there.

I wish I could bring 5 suitcases on the plane, and just fill 3 of 'em with NJS stuff.

What's with "spoke cards"?

If I put them on my Fix, will I essentially go back in time and become a young hipster again?

Do people with spoke cards adjust them according to mood, or the daily fashion, coordinate with clothes, etc?

Does it bug you when one isn't perfectly aligned in it's spoke home?

I'm dying to know this.

^ ^ ^ What frame is that? Geometry looks pretty relaxed, is it a road frame with track dropouts?
