Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

I, too couldn't help but be distracted by thighs so big the penis must have had to move elsewhere to make room for the muscle, but I felt too gay to write about it and buried it deep down. Now, I'm on your side. Beautiful bike and damn scary thighs.

is that like a 30x20 gear?

here's an interesting one currently hanging in the shop...one of the very first carbon bikes, tubes glued into aluminum lugs a la specialized epic. too big for me, not fixed...all wrong, i know.

oh side-question, how important is it for me to get my bike registered? (get the whole bike license thing)

I didn't know ann arbor enforced it, let alone did it anymore.
I don't think UofM does it either.

the only time i've seen bikes removed by the authorities was once this spring, they went around and put tags on bikes (i believe ones that were abandoned or thought to be), and if the bike was still there in 2 days, they were cut loose and impounded.

My bike has two old registration stickers on it, but then again it's approx 18yrs+ old, i've not seen a newer bike with a registration on it that I've noticed. Might want to check with the city.

I just did a google search through a2gov.org and didn't see a single thing about registering bikes.

The campus bike shop gave my friend a big spiel about needing the registration or the city can take your bike. I don't like/believe that place cuz it seems they do some shady business..

Rumor is that Theo Bos is transitioning into road cycling. Apparently he even competed on a stage in the Tour de France this year.

Don't think so. There's an interview with him this month in wieler magazine. He talks about just having returned from kerin racing in Japan (money in the bank). And he's on the schedule for the 6 Days Race in Amsterdam this month, then world cup events in Sidney and Bejing.

He did some of the after-Tour criteriums here but he wont race road much becuase he says it hurts his sprint. And he said a long time ago he'd rather be World Champion on the track than working as a pawn for someone else on the road.

In the TdF???

Did you even understand what I wrote? I said you're jealous of people not looking at your thighs.
