that is funny as hell...haha...not many people around town will get that...
|
Is there a DIY on these forums anywhere for those?
|
If you're gonna spend the money, I'd suggest Hokey Spokes otherwise, if you want to try to build it yourself, Instructables.com has a great how to.

Details? Looks great, uncomfortable, but great.

puuuuurty....i agree it looks uncomfortable, but the saddle to stem drop isn't so extreme that i think it's anything but a matter of taste*
* after riding that a few months you'll have a taste for risers or flats, i betcha. but again, that's just my taste speaking. also my taste, i'll reiterate: puuuuurty... |

Please put brakes on that bike.
|
please do, it isn't easy to skid platforms and conversions usually yell "I'm new to fixed" to me. Also, are those track drops?
Sorry to be track end/braze on free elite. |

Sorry to be track end/braze on free elite. I ran clips for a while, but the convenience of platforms won me over. Maybe the stars didn't align just right for me, but I couldn't get comfortably fast at getting in and out of them. It felt more dangerous than less. Maybe theres some secret to it? I live in a smallish town so theres no one to learn from really. Maybe Ill rethink the clips. I'm not sure if they are "real" track drops, but they sure are shaped like them. Never heard of the name before. Found them at the LBS. I would love, and was originally looking for a track frame, but couldn't pass this one up. I was also going to de braze all the braze ons, but it has too much history to deface it. |
Typically, people who say that they have "no troubles skidding with platforms," ride very slowly, and lean all the way forward in order to skid.
It seems totally foreign to those of us who ride with pedal retention system, who can skid or skip without so much as getting out the saddle. |
I ride clips and straps or clipless, I just felt it would be useful to know how to stop in the case of not being clipped in.
I actually don't own a pair of DH or BMX (clip incompatible) platforms. |
