Crank Brothers Candy Cs. Like SPDs, but in Eggbeater form!
At least, that's what I put on fixies that come into the shop. (And on my road bike). I fail at using toe straps, so clipless (preferable CB) all the way! Sometimes I feel so bad for hanging around mostly in the SSFG forum.... when I don't even own a fixie. |

+100 for GR9s, MKS Clips and I currently run 2 christoph straps with a home brewed doubler

hmmm, how come nobody mentions powergrips? do they suck for you? I made my own out of a nylon belt, and screwed them onto some platform pedals, works great! Super tight, easy to get in an out, use any shoe, get added pedaling AND stopping power, skidding becomes easy, and I can go as slow as I like on even the steepest hills. Best of all, the whole settup cost me less than 3 bucks! (already had the pedals)

mks sylvans with steel toe clips, can't go wrong.
chiapas: i just personally think powergrips look bulky/corny on a track bike, lol. that's about it. |

I have the MKS Gr-9's w/ MKS Clips and some cheap leather straps. That setup feels pretty good.

campy nylons are the worst! stretchy and slidy.
i've been using the same ones for probably 9 to 10 months. brakeless. they haven't stretched much at all and the buckle is as good as new. of course it's not as good as a leather strap and i do want to upgrade but as far as nylon straps go, campy are the best i've used. |
Last night was my first serious ride on Eggbeaters.
I seem to unclip every time I skid, and sometimes just randomly on hard hill-climbs. I think it's just my poor form, but I would be SOOL if I wasn't running a brake. |

go clipless, get eggbeaters, you will be a better human being (and a faster rider)
Straps & cleats don't really hold unless you cinch 'em down, and you know if you do that you're going to need to get out fast at exactly the wrong time. |
