What frames are the same?

I hope this hasn't been covered before.

So like,

Kilo TT = KHS Flite 100?
Windsor Hour = 2007 Fuji Track?

etc. etc.

NeilMonday 01-03-08 08:46 PM

I've heard people always say that kilo = khs, but the geometries listed on each companies sites are different. What gives?

babychris 01-03-08 09:09 PM

the kilo is threaded and the khs is threadless.

fixedup 01-04-08 10:22 AM

how does that answer the geometry question?

I_luv_hooters 01-04-08 10:42 AM

Intersting tidbit: the Bareknuckle is the same frame as a Pake.. Both are made by schwinn.

How are they the same frame? They're made of different tubing aren't they?

odie91 01-04-08 10:51 AM

Lemond Fillmore = Gary Fisher Triton

wearyourtruth 01-04-08 10:52 AM

i think that was a joke

NeilMonday 01-04-08 10:54 AM

Does anyone have any proof to back up these claims?

In the meantime Langster is same as Nagasawa!

asherlighn 01-04-08 10:57 AM

Motobecane Messangers are rebadged Mercians?

at the schwinn bareknuckle factory whenever they f**kup a frame they put a pake sticker on it and mark the price way down. if it gets further damaged, they send it to alien bikes for rebadging.

fixedup 01-04-08 11:07 AM

I want proof also , this all sounds like bull****.

both of my kilo tt came with khs owners manuals as far as geometry goes they are the same

the geometry listed on the mercier sight is only for their road frames no geometry is listed for the kilo

I have owned several kilos and several khs frames as they are my favorite frame of all time just so happens I am a beast and I hurt them

btw fuji track= windsor hour = motobecane messenger
kilo tt = khs flite 100
bareknuckle (deda) =? madison (nlightened) - same fork same geometry different "tubes"
tsunami =? fuji track pro =? raleigh rhp
pake (??) = soma rush seconds? (tange prestige) - same frame geometry different tubes

gos you people are fools if you thought I was serious

fixedup 01-04-08 11:12 AM

If im wrong please correct me, the pake and madison are made of standard 4130 cromo right? The bareknuckle is not made of some mix od columbus and deccaddi (sp?) right? Also isn't the soma rush made of tange prestige? How can they be the same frame? I'll buy the khs mercier being the same.

Retem 01-04-08 11:15 AM

the red stuff is bs...

zacked 01-04-08 11:28 AM

The bareknuckle is not related to the madison, they just have similar looking forks.
Pake is not a rush, they're different tubing.
The tsunami and fuji track pro and raleigh don't even look alike.

This is the classic misinformation thread. Lots of people who can't tell a joke when it slaps them in the face combined with even more people who don't know what they're talking about. I love it.

Here is the Kilo TT geo sheet: http://www.cyclesmercier.com/geometry_tt.html
Here is the KHS Flite geo sheet: http://www.khsbicycles.com/Images/Ge...7-geo-road.jpg

Now compare say a 57cm frame

KHS Flite 100 (57):
HT angle: 75*
ST angle: 74*
Top Tube: 575mm
Chainstay: 401mm
Fork Offset: 28 mm

Mercier Kilo TT (57):
HT angle: 73.5*
ST angle: 74*
Top Tube: 590mm
Chainstay: 405mm
Fork Offset: 40 mm

Maybe they are made by the same people, maybe they are made of the same material, but I am sorry these are not the same frames.

Retem 01-04-08 11:49 AM

I will measure my friends kilo against my khs and get backto you on that

as far as my knowledge having owned several of these frames is they ride the same and look the same side by side

it is hard to beleive that the 2003 mercier geometry chart is correct to the 06/07 models which are the ones I have owned

I really hope that your kilo has the same geo as the khs, becaus I really want the kilo tt "pro" frameset when bikesdirect sells them, and if it had a 75* H/T and 28 mm fork offset it would be icing on the cake.

I didn't claim to know exactly which frames were which, but I was able to tell that I_luv_hooters was joking when he said that the BK and the Pake were the same frame, and that both were discarded Schwinns.

fixedup 01-04-08 04:42 PM

well I applaud whoever can judge sarcasm over the internet better than me

Super cereal?

marqueemoon 01-05-08 12:38 AM

Spicer standard track frame = KHS

I'm surprised that the top tube on 57cm Kilo is 59cm. That seems like a pretty stretched out bike.

chase. 01-06-08 05:55 PM

i had heard that the kilo had a long ST for the TT measurement relative to other frames. that's odd.
