There's one with three teeth and a lock ring wrench on there.

there are two types. The wrench version pictured above works fine. Many shops have a pliers version with grips at two points and is less likely to slip. Sheldon's got both. If you can afford them, the pliers are great.

sheldon has the hozan lockring wrench which are modified for better grip for $28.
I'v had mine for 5 years and they're going strong.

both my bike shop back home and my old room mate both had the two and four teeth tools, but I dont have the convenience of asking either of them. I know they exist! that's why this is frustrating.

whoa, $90?! I'll take the pliers first. That's not the tool I'm speaking of, by the way. It looks just like your basic lockring tool, with the exception of the teeth.

get the hozan pliers, its what we use at my shop and really the only worthwhile thing out there (aside from possibly the paul one - but who's got 90 bucks to drop on that?) spanners suck.

i've never really had any problems with the basic hozan spanner. i typically throw a pipe over one end (when i'm loosening a ring), make sure that everything is lined up, and push down. the only real issue is with it falling off of the ring, but i find that if you angle the wheel slightly so that the wrench rests against the cog when you're torquing, that won't occur.
i've never deformed any lock ring notches with the single tooth design, except on the known-to-be-fragile dura ace bottom brackets. you really do need the bbt-7 tool to spread the forces over several notches.

The 3 prong park tool works on my surly lockring. Basically, 1 prong goes into the groove... the other 2 just rest on the outside of the ring. Actually, it has to be slipped on from the side as the 2 (not in groove) teeth wrap around the ring... impossible to slip out of place. It's the only thing ANY LBS had when I needed it.

I'm in the market for a lockring tool of my own...the other night at bike church, I used Rikardi151's modified adjustable pliers dremeled into a lockring wrench to remove a friend's lockring...he should show everyone a picture if there isn't one up here somewhere already. The one posted at the beginning of the thread was the only one in the shop I could find, and it ruined the notch on the lockring pretty quick...Formula lockring.
