Question About Single Speed Wheels
I have a 2000 KHS Flite 300 and recently converted it into a single speed. I have stock wheels on the bike and used spacers and the derailer to convert it....I'll soon be getting a chain tensioner. The bike has semi-vertical dropouts and I'm having trouble figuring out what wheels to buy. I'm wanting to replace the old ones and use them for another build. I've been looking at the CXP22's with the formula hub. I'm wondering if these would work on my frame. Will I need something with a quick release or will bolt on work? Are there other wheels that might work better? I'm very new to this. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks.

Thank you for the help. I went ahead and ordered the CXP22's. My buddy works at a bike shop and is getting me a deal on them. 150.00 is damn good though.
Thanks!

sorry i'll clarify. modern QR's, with their exposed cams, are designed to be used with vertical dropouts and front forks with "lawyer tabs." as a result of their curved washer (usually plastic) design and difference in cam diameter, they apply much less clamping force than the older enclosed cam QRs.
while QRs in general have been around since the 20's, the modern version, which came to be as a result of the development of vertical dropouts, is not a safe bet to use with horizontal drops. if you can find some classic QR's with enclosed cams, you should be fine... but if someone were to buy a new wheelset, they are going to get them with exposed cam QR's
