Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Alternatives to Kilo TT???

So I've heard great things about the Mercier Kilo TT, but fixies are becoming more and more popular, and i was just wondering if there were any other companies out there that are offering a complete track bike (such as the Kilo TT) and with a similar price.

I love the Kilo, and i will probably end up buying one...but i dont want to get one, then see a competitors bike online and like it more.

if you don't mind paying a little extra, the kilo uu is about $400. the geometry's a bit steeper, and it's made of reynolds 631 instead of 4130 chromoly. also, it's fully lugged, as opposed to just the fork.

Bikes: yes

SE has some really cheap ones. the lager and the draft. one of them is a budget bike. one of them is even cheaper, made of high-tensile steel, with one-piece cranks... worth avoiding if you're looking for something worthwhile.

The Draft isn't fixed, it's just a single speed. My friend has one and its seemed to hold up just fine and he's had it for a year. He hates the wheelset, though, which is understandable considering the price.

Gotta love that sextuple butted-sarcastium alloy. Vertically stiff yet laterally compliant.

OP, there are no other alternatives. it's either kilo tt, or BFSSFG slits your throat.
