Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Yeah, they are wide, but comfortable, and there are quite a few that you cold use clips with, the odyessey twisted PC pedals come to mind, and they are light.

they're huge and wide, and are probably better for sneaker riding than amy pedals we ride with. Their spindle is a different size, though.

Better than what? Pedals designed for wood-soled shoes and slotted cleats? I can give you a few reasons why BMX platforms are better than those.

Seems to me you'd have to totally loosen your straps everytime you wanted out of them because of the spiky spikes on the pedals.

Better than having no traction at all on a regular road/track pedal.

My road pedals have a lot of traction... What type don't have traction? I'm curious.

Good one
But just think on those cold ass winter nights you can burn your pedals to keep warm.

Seriously tho' ....clipless makes the most sense for riding in the city (IMHO) due to ease of entry/exit but having said that. Whatever works for a particular person is just fine, if I had a grocery store only fixie I'd probably rock some bmx platforms on it
