Tape on the stem

Does anyone else put handlebar tape on the stem?
Or is this stupid and frowned upon? Haha...
I do, because I often find myself using the stem to steer.
I might put some pictures up later if I can find my camera.

Why would you steer with your stem?

And what part of Toledo are you from? I'm from there originally....

Guess you are going for that "hands around a scarf being flushed down the toilet look" about which BikeSnob always speaks.

This is right up there with "Hey guys, ever put extra soles on the bottom of your shoe so you don't wear it out braking your tire with your foot?"

Well, not exactly, but here is something pretty close: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...rake+shoe+tire

and then there is this gem from another:

I found the gloves, but unfortunately, they didn't sell any grip tape to wrap around the steering column, so I will just have to beef up my arms at the gym.
