I was going to post that but then I figured I'd get flamed.

Thats worse than the ones I saw in Bangkok where they just painted the bike image in the middle of the existing sidewalk. They had signs posting it as a bike lane any everything.

Oh well, this is a street in the Netherlands. Here bikers don't give a **** about cars anyway. And car drivers don't really care because they ride bikes too as every person here owns approx. 2,5 bikes. But I've seen some more strange things here. What about a sign summoning you to a bicycle path which turns out to be 3 feet long before you have to ride on the road again?

Don't run red lights, wear a helmet, use hand signals, get some cycle lights(front and rear) and, FFS, don't run red lights!

aren't you required to ride in bike lanes (if they're provided) in the netherlands? I know you have to in Belgium.

I wasn't asked to use the farce-ilities when I cycled (Vehicular cycling all the way) there. Anyone care to confirm/deny Tim's statement please?

In my town we have 1 block worth of bike lines in the entire city(not counting the very nice bike path which goes along the outskirts of like half the city) and it's the bumpiest brick road i've ever ridden a bike on(yesterday while riding it somehow the screws keeping one of my clips on came loose and fell off and because it was a ****ty brick road, finding tiny nuts and bolts was hard) and at the end of the lane you have to do a dangerous merge into the busiest road in town. I usually just stick to the road instead of bothering with the path.
