Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sorry folks...gotta bail for tomorrow. My father just went into the hospital for surgery and I will be out in the 'burbs for the rest of the week.
If the Handlebar gig goes down, let me know the date and time. I'll try and make that one.

I am out of it for tomorrow too... ...but still commited to hooking up at the Handlebar or where ever the group deems appropriate. Though you just can't beat the Handlebar for bike culture. Could do weekends. Want to make sure 165-48:17 can join us. Best wishes and a quick recovery to your dad.

So you guys are down for doing this sort of thing in the cold cold winter weather?? I rode all last winter, but I enjoyed the summer so much that I am now dreading piling on all those clothes and gloves and whatnot again. I don't know, I suppose it is invigorating or something.

As far as a get together goes, I work nights so I can't really come out anyways.

I only have a problem during the transitions in weather. When it is 30 in the morning and 60 in the afternoon or when you can't remember from last winter what you wore in sub 30 deg temps. Once the winter begins and the temps level out it is easy.

165, hope things go well with your father.

We will reschedule for the Handlebar sometime soon. I'm pretty busy myself, making and prepping stuff for the DIY Trunk Show in Wicker Park (similar to the Renegade Craft Fair recently) this Saturday. I'll be having stuff made from inner tubed there, recycling!

Oh and if you're interested in the Trunk show, you folks should come out: https://poise.cc/diytrunkshow/
