Chicago Meeting of the Fix/Single Speeds?
Okay-
This was brought up before, but nothing ever came of it. So...
Who would be up for this? A get together of all/some of Chicago's One Gears?
1. Agree on a date
2. Agree on a location
3. Meet on agreed upon date and agreed upon location
It is really that simple. This could be a good thing. Anyways, let's get some ideas rolling. stickerguy, absntr, dumpster vegan, jasonyates and all other Disciples of One...post crap for this here.
My suggestion:
Holiday Club "North" 4000 N. Sheridan (the other one in WP got the axe). 2nd weekend (Friday) in November.

Word, I'm down too. Just let me know when it is and I'm there. I've not been on the forums a lot recently but I'll keep checking this thread to see what the latest developments are!

I must admit a certain amount of self interest on my part as well.
I Live in Oak Park and the Handlebar is on the way. I'd be up for anywhere with good atmosphere, food and brew, live music optional.
cheers! next...

I'm in Humboldt so Handlebar is close to me. I don't care though. I have ridden to Delilahs before. 4000 north is a little further than I usually go, but no big deal. That would actually be cool, give me an excuse to go somewhere else.

almost a fixie
I will be an "on word" guest. My fixed is not done because Soma's out of frames. If there weren't, I'd be there in SS style. Instead, I will be MTB.
Which bar?

On word, In Spirit or With Good Intentions... ...it all works. You already owned a few Fixie's/SS's anyway, you childhood tri-cycle and your first coaster brake kids bike. I think that is good enough for the congregation. The important thing is that you have seen the true light. Besides you can ply people with drinks for information on what mistakes to avoid in building up your new frame.
As to the Bar it is still open for discussion (I vote Handlebar). Any suggestions?

Absntr-
I am leaving this to you as HandleBar is out of effective range for me for weekdays. Maybe we should do North and South meetings??? Attend as possible? AS much as possible?

We could do weekends as well...or have it at Holiday, how about everyone else? What do folks think? A weekend? I'm biased towards the Handlebar cause I dig the food, but I'm open to whatever. Attend as possible might be a good idea though it's up to the rest of you folks for majority vote for day and place.

So what's happening? Seems like the thread sorta just diddled off into nothing...
