pet peeves..

How about a nice selection of your favorite pet peeves???

1. fixies w/ full fenders (minus the cafe racers, et al)
2. fixes w/ road drops
3. fixies w/ brakes
4. fixies w/ bottle mounts
5. fixes w/ frame pumps
6. fixies w/ computers
7. fixies w/ ample pedal clearance
8. fixies w/ obtuse stems

just to name a few..

Bikes: Are faster than yours.

1. People that ride fixies that have pet peeves about other people because of the setup of their ride.

Bikes: A lot: Raliegh road bike, 3 fixed gears, 2 single speeds, 3 Cannondales, a couple of Schwinns

I surprized you didn't mention the under the seat kits that some of us use. Or the non-duct taped frames. Or matched wheel sets. Or track rear ends when a little lock-tite would do the trick.

Geez. I'll keep my front brake, thanks. I like redundant systems, especially the ones that can save my life... and as to the drop bars, you try finding french bars in a different shape.

I don't care much what your ride looks like, as long as it's safe and you ride it. I just fixed up an old moto mixte for a young lady, it's completely uncool, but it's great-- because she rides it.

My wife and I used to raise pet peeves. They are so cute as puppies.

I had to get rid of mine. They got loose and started breeding in the walls.

Be careful with your assumption. I don't have pet peeves about people because of their bikes....I have pet peeves about the bicycles themselves.

I still say fowl. Many of these bikes are compiled by the owners.. as a reflection of themselves.

So, petpeeve the bike, pet peeve the owner.. in most cases.

People who ride 'kit' (i.e.-Shake and bake fixies) bikes.
That's just me though. I like difference, so all are accepted.

This may not have been your intent, however, it would sure seem that many took it this way.

So about 20 miles a trip. That's a little far to go without any water. Where do you keep your water?
Where do you keep your spare tires?

For me it is easier to keep that stuff on the bike. If I don't keep all that stuff on my bike I will forget it.
I don't really park my bike outside either. If I did that I would probably not leave the stuff on the bike.
