My Look Keos are awesome.
Eggbeaters FTL.

But I am curious about time atac.

I run Wellgo SPD ripoffs on both of my bikes, so I just voted for Shimano SPD.

I don't even want to know how much Nike is charging for those absolutely hideous looking shoes. Judging by how thin the sole is, I bet you the cleats will scrape like crazy too. I doubt practicality really matters to the target audience of those shoes though.

Arguably the most popular pedals with the london courier crowd.

LoRoK 04-09-08 05:24 PM

For messin' with friends I will put my MKS Custom Nuevos with double Toshis on. For riding though I am starting to really like my ATACs. Actually, it's not the pedal I like but having a cycling shoe with a stiff sole that fits my foot is the bomb.

MKS Gr-9s Powergrips

scrub 04-09-08 06:03 PM

I just got sidi road shoes and eggbeaters, I like them already but haven't had a long enough ride yet to sell my other set up. I was running gr-9s/mks clips/ toshi doubles but there was always too much pressure somewhere on my left foot that ended up in discomfort.

frankstoneline 04-09-08 06:05 PM

I have gr9s and clips and straps, I think I'm going to look into some sylvans and powergrips.

monsterkidz 04-09-08 09:35 PM

I run Gr-9s with MKS steel Clips and Alpha singles most of the time. Seems to be a great combo. For when I rock clipless, I was using Look KEO Classics until I shattered a brand-newish cleat during a panic stop. So now I'm back to using my CrankBrothers Candy pedals.

I'm rockin' the Ritchey WCS-V4 pedals. Small and light. Love em!

What kind of pedals do you use?

This is just out of curiosity. Mostly, I'm trying to figure out what is the empirical favorite among clipless systems before I make the jump (curiosity inspired by the new nike spd shoe).

My guess is eggbeater and atac will be the most common.

I hope that Nike SB comes out with that shoe in different patterns, that'd be cool. I'm gonna talk to my friend that works out there and see if they've got any trials I can sneak up on.

im assuming they will come out with a least a handful of colorways. thats kinda how nike rolls. they're smart enough to know that bmx bikers would never buy them if it meant wearing the exact same shoe as every/any other bmx biker in their town.

Trike 04-10-08 04:23 PM

in order of preference:
coombe
bebop
time atac

lns55 04-10-08 05:56 PM

Crank Brothers eggbeaters on the fixed gear and SPD campus pedals on my commuter bike.

gharding 04-10-08 06:28 PM

Actually had someone ask me about my powergrips on the bike ride home tonight! I feel like I'm in some sort of secret Power grip cult.

solbrothers 04-19-08 10:39 PM

evilfirbolg 04-20-08 07:39 PM

Soma Hellyers, Soma steel double cages, Soma dual straps or
Campy Pistas, MKS steel, Dual Alfredo Bindas

Time Criterium carbon shoe with Yoshida slotted cleats.

iwegian 08-11-08 03:04 AM

i use spd sl's on my bike now. when i get to college i'll probably just run flats because i'll probably top out at 15 mph. plus the only cycling schoes i have are for sl's and i'd look rediculous in road shoes and pink road pedals.

Yea I am not too sure why so many people like the MKS Sylvan pedals. Horrible for soft-soled shoes. GR-9's are great. My favorite pedal so far. Hope to get them powdercoated black with my next frame job.

thomas_at_BF 08-11-08 09:58 AM

mks sylvan tracks w/ cheap straps.
