What kind of pedals do you use?

This is just out of curiosity. Mostly, I'm trying to figure out what is the empirical favorite among clipless systems before I make the jump (curiosity inspired by the new nike spd shoe).

My guess is eggbeater and atac will be the most common.

eggbeaters ftw. i've heard the ATAC's are the shyt, too.

for fixed use, i use cheap shimano spd's. m520's. pulled 'em off my girl's mountain bike, and they're compat with the cleats on my mtb shoes, go figure. eggbeaters offend me b/c they are too costly for a made-in-china product with a low weight and few materials. if you're gonna give me slavery, i want it really, really cheap.

edit- if'n these pedals die soon, i'll likely go back to clips on some cheap platform, or get some m540s.

My winter/beater bike(s) I just left platform for the snow/ice crap. Now it's not so slippy, I've retired the beater and going with eggbeaters once again. I've got them on my roadie (likely use these on my Rob Roy build until I get another set... 2Ti ones are tempting me :eek:) I also have some campus pedals with SPD/platform kicking about, but haven't used them in a while.

I've never got the hang of clips/straps, though never really given them a fair try I guess. I might get some for the summer to try out.

I'd love to go back to clips and straps, but clipless is 10 fold better. clips/straps you only get two dimensions of force, the up stroke and down. clipless allows you the entire circle...so much more efficient.

I've got MKS GR-9s with ALE clips and single straps.

you should clarify if you mean road or street.

I have some terrible MKS touring pedals and mks singles with ALE leather straps. I'm switching to some GR-9s and soma 4gates some day...

i am running Shimano M520 SPD pedals, I have tried clips but i just cant get in and out of them easy enough so i keep these. i would like to try eggbeaters eventually though

i'm just counting the days till someone decides to make a low-top chuck taylor stiff-sole cleated shoe.

Wellgo BMX large platform with studs, I suppose they are considered powergrip.

I really want to go clipless and went to the LBS. Great selection of pedals but shoe selection sucked. I hate to buy something like shoes online where I can't try them on, but looks like I have no choice.
