Another suggestion. If we make this PR order work I'll bet dollars to donuts that Lane would be hip to doing a group buy on a custom run of color matched Cetma racks.

That's one option.

The other would be to just buy the Kogswell rack. It's made of tubular cro-mo. It costs less. It mounts to four threaded bosses on the fork. It has light brackets. And it weighs under two pounds.

The first samples of this rack will be ready in two weeks. And we hope to have them in stock by late summer.

Here is a site dedicated to the sixfiftyB.

If you can ride a 58cm frame, call us. We have a qood supply of 58cm x 700C P/Rs that we're clearing out as frame/fork only combos.

Weinmann has started making the ZAC-19 rim in 650B. I'm trying to find a way to get them laced into wheels made using the new SRAM iLight front dyno hubs. 99% of P/R owners use dyno hubs because these bikes get used as replacements for automobiles and if you have the comfort and safety and utility of fat tires and fenders and a rack then why not go the extra mile and have top-notch lighting as well?

If I can get wheels worthy of use, I'll offer them as well.

Planning on selling them individually? I <3 them already.

I would be down with a GB for the PR, the Kogswell rack and/or a CETMA rack.

Wow! See I didn't even know you had your own racks. Is this info on your website?

utiovissuna 05-02-08 09:20 AM

why did the alien frame go away? or are we waiting on information?

BikEthan 05-02-08 09:35 AM

I'm interested in a more functional SS/FG bike. Fender and rack mounts etc... the PR looks awesome but I am leery of the 650b wheels as well (but for $320 I might just do it anyway). A 58 is a bit small for me (6' 2" with long legs).

I'd be down with an alien group buy as well, not anywhere near as practical as the PR but IMHO prettier than my IRO.

+1 to that

So no cross bike?

Come on, guys! Do you know what it's like being in Santa Cruz and not having a decent off-road machine?!?

But seriously, the PR looks awesome, and if the price is right for enough stuff, I might be interested.

Matt, how about the S+S coupled P/R group buy that was being discussed on KOG a few weeks ago?

If i remember correctly, you were willing to get a special run made if you could get pre-paid orders for 10+ frames in a single size you'd throw in the couplers at cost. Everything being paid up front, fFollwed by the 10+ month wait for the frame shop to actually make them.
I think you already had interest from at least 5 members for 59cm's. I was the only one who wanted the 61cm.

There WAS a GB for a functional fixed gear bike when the Rob Roy deal went down (rack and fender mounts). Where were you guys at? They were $200...
I think it would be rad to have some sort of semi nice track bike GB.

I think I joined up with BF right after that deal was finalized. :( Otherwise, believe me I would have been all over it.

I think I was mud wrestling with my GF when that happened. I sorta lost track of BF for a while and missed that one.

Before that there was a deal for a semi-nice track bike, an Iro Angus with custom tubing. It was $150 I think. Where were YOU then?
