Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Sure, you don't want to lift it whole hog, but some of the specific features are useful.

i.e. 'USER WAS PROBATED FOR THIS POST' illustrates the behavior for other users.
The linked 'probation/ban list' screen has the explanation for the action right there.
The admin who did the probation/ban is right there, so people know who to go to for questions.

Those three things would eliminate 90% of the noise that develops on this board once some drama occurs. Look how many threads get posted with gossip and questions, and the 'hack' of having a probation/ban thread that admins keep having to point people to. If that stuff were integrated, it'd help a lot.

Because the duration of membership on an internet forum has been shown, time and again, to be highly correlated with cycling experience and modulating competence, of course.

I am very much in harmony with myself, but I'm not sure that has anything to do with my cycling experience, except in an existential way.

Hey, I said that first!

EivlEvo, thanks for stepping up to the plate and offering to help. I'm sure you will do your best to be fair yet fun. I know the last 48hrs have been hard and harsh, but I hope no one took it too personally. I'll continue to lurk around here, but try to keep my hands off the mod buttons.

We can barely keep this place down to a low roar, how the heck are we ever going to have a chance at fixing real problems!

Hey man... you can hate my "inexperience" all you want. But search my posts... I think I completely understand the way BFSSFG goes. I've been on here religiously since october and am in love with the wit and sarcasm that occurs.

I mean... Im here FOR the people. If you see me do something (or anyone for that matter) that you don't like... let me know.

I think my posts in the "closed BFSSFG" thread... which is somewhere where I can't even see it illustrate my principles very well.

The club needs new members. There are people knocking on the door, wanting to come in.

Show a little love .

I suppose each individual will have their own perceptions of others actions... Consider the door wide open.

No, not like that at all. I always found blickblocks posts and contibutions to fit in the marginal zone. As a mod, never posts in any of the threads that need mods in them, and completely disappeared in the past week when all the bruha started. Instead of one of the regular mods in here moderating, the lurking and once in while mods drop in to clean up after the mess was made. Whats the point of having ss/fg mods that don't do that. 165-46-16 aka Pitboss was a great member before becoming a mod, and was able to keep things on an even keel once he got blue stared. But hey, just MHO.

I don't miss Koffee though, Rev. Chuck yes.

I'm not making the connection here. It shouldn't matter who the moderator is, or where they post. How does that make any difference as far as posts that need moderating?
