Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Brian what they/we are saying is that you guys that are out of "the ss/fg loop" edit posts because of content that don't need to be edited.

The swearing and language and anything else in the guidelines fine. But I see alot of posts edited that shouldn't have been. They were just using lulcatz or other weirdo lingo. They weren't meant to be nor should've nor do I think would've been taken offensively.

Having someone to mod this ss/fg forum that is IN this ss/fg forum is the best option. I agree that these forums should be open and comfortable to all. I don't think that they were really very offensive other than the occasional nonsense pics, or vulgarity. You'd find that within any forum though.

Similar to being a pilot, there is a sub culture here with their own form of "english". They aren't offensive words, and I think the "it takes one to know one" standard of moderating here will serve this as well as the overall community better.

No one is going to hate a mod for editing a swear word or nonsensical imagery that is clearly offensive. But most of the posts that got edited stating "trolling" as the reason are the posts that make BFSSFG what it is so to speak.

You're right, it shouldn't.

I just expressed my thoughts on the matter, I found BB to be a wierd choice to be a mod in BF. In regards to who should mod what, I think a mod who posts alot in the fg section should be here to mod when the stuff hits the fan. But hey whatever, I'm going back to the T.O. thread.

The linked 'probation/ban list' screen has the explanation for the action right there.
The admin who did the probation/ban is right there, so people know who to go to for questions.

Those three things would eliminate 90% of the noise that develops on this board once some drama occurs. Look how many threads get posted with gossip and questions, and the 'hack' of having a probation/ban thread that admins keep having to point people to. If that stuff were integrated, it'd help a lot.
I agree.

Regarding editing posts.

As I stated. Any post that I edit will have an explanation and you'll know that it has been edited. In most if not all cases this will be IN the thread, IN the edited post.

I agree about the mass confusion of a silently edited post. Just understand it is not my job nor my intention to put words in peoples mouthes or to change the meaning of something. So if it gets hairy... just message me and I'd be more than happy to accommodate your concerns to the best of my abilities.
