Have you actually tried them? Assuming you get a decent pair of shoes, it really isn't that big of a deal. I walk around the grocery store in my MT40's all day long. I've even worn them at work for 9 hours and I hardly ever get to sit down.
FWIW, I used to agree with you on clipless shoes until I actually went balls out and tried them.

i jam my thumbs up and back into the tubes. this way i can point my fingers straight out in front to split the wind and attain an even more aero profile, and the usual fixed gear - zen - connectedness feeling through the drivetrain is multiplied ten fold because my thumbs become one with the tubing.

Using lycra-wearing as an insult only shows how big of a dumbass you are. Have fun chafing.
That frame is far from top-end. Hell, it's not even mid-range. Those wheels are barely an improvement over the stock ones, and that is debatable at best. And even if you like risers, you can get better ones pretty damn easily.
EDIT: Your bike looks perfectly fine, I'm not meaning to insult you. I realize I'm coming off as a dick, but you are definitely not done upgrading. One day down the road, you will try out a friends clipless pedal/shoe combo "just for kicks" and you will pretend to hate it. Then 6 months later you will move to a new state, get a new screenname, and start a new life as a clipless rider.

Nice ride man.
Its not the end-all be-all of bicycles. But it looks like it would be fun to ride. If the parts work for you then just ride it until it breaks. No use in buying parts to one-up anyone unless you feel like burning some money.
That said, I love me some clipless on any bikes I intend to do more than 10 miles on.

Right on - that's why I said I was done. The only thing I spent money on was the saddle.
Everything else I got on the cheap. I don't think I could have done better for the $$$ I spent.

hahaha, no he was legitimately caught flipping off the person with the camera, who was also working the checkpoint. this man and many others like him were a torrent of curse words and ill will during this race.

If you're not going clipless, get some decent platforms. MKS Custom Nuevo.
A bike is only done, without anything left to upgrade, if the frame has been completely destroyed. Beyond that, there's always nicer parts, newer parts, better parts, more stylish parts. (The next handlebar trend will be butterfly bars.
