2009 Specialized Langster

I have not a smidge of conceptual and visual creativity, but trying to convey the entire feel of a city through a production bike without resorting to cheesy stereotypes seems like a horribly destined-to-fail idea. "Oh, New York has lots of taxis so lets make the bike an obnoxious taxi cab yellow, and Seattle ALWAYS has rain and EVERYONE loves coffee so let's add a holster and fenders. Right guys? Right!?"

The Seattle one really makes a lot of sense. My commuter already has a drink holder (not just for coffee kids), fenders (it does rain around here, just once in a while), and white seat and grips (just mad style) so I guess they've got it nailed!
The green rims are pretty sweet as well.

Get an older used Langster Pro or a newer used Langster Comp... Better bike for mildly more money used... [Edit: Better than a standard Langster... the S-Works is still the jam for Specialized]

Picked up a Langster London <--- my home town, 2 weeks ago... luv it! An unlucky fellow bought it, rode it home from his LBS and never got on it again... stuck it on eBay. A lucky fellow saw it and placed a sniper bid just for fun... got an unexpected (i'd forgotten about it) message a week later. You've won!
Done nearly 200km. I love the bike. It's a little twitchy (not a bad thing) and the track drops gave me sore wrists for a couple of days. I spin out quite easily (may need a slightly bigger chainring/smaller sprocket) but hills are a breeze.
The only downer is the brake calipers. Specialized if you are listening. THE LANGSTER BRAKES ARE SHYTE!!!!! I have a pair of Ultegra calipers that are going on ASAP.

2009 Langster Seattle is pretty fly...for a white guy!
The graphics are ill -I like the white coffee mug big-S logo. And it matches the ano green coffee mug holder. Too preppy for me but I can see it pretty fly...for a white guy! I'm glad that they used wood fenders - it adds a touch of class. The carbon seatpost sucks, that needs to get replaced stat!!! Retail at the local bike shop was close to $900 and with taxes definitely put it over my budget. I would cruise the good 'ol ebay for it! Ah, EDIT: just found one! Pix jacked from that auction.

p.s. Is it just me or are those Cinelli priest pope john paul swept bars? I saw someone's modified Seattle with Brooks grips, that would be a worthy investment!
