Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Visor, comfort, and looks all good IMO... only bad thing is ventilation...
i had a bern, and i will NEVER buy one again. the brentwood is cool looking, but still mushroomy, if that matters to you. also, the ventilation is ungodly bad. i also bought a winter liner for it (i'm a year-round commuter) and that was just as bad. the winter liner was sized correctly, but it didn't fit all that well in the helmet. also, the tiny vents on the top of the helmet meant that it was pretty freaking cold with or without the liner.
in other words, too little venting in the summer, too much venting in the winter.

also, it was really, really uncomfortable. the padding seems to be in all the wrong places, and it never really felt like it was secure. just annoying.

i got a $20 bell solar to tide me over, and i'm still wearing it. any road or MTB helmet with a ratcheting fit system will be better than the bern. it's the reason why bern helmets are now at a 50% discount or more all over the internet.

If I had any balls I would totally rock this baby.

Garneau makes some nice looking helmets but they are a little pricey.

In terms of style, remember that non-cyclists aren't really going to distinguish between different helmets they're just going to see a helmet, and cyclists aren't going to care.

I have a TT helmet that I really should wear more often to justify the cost.

Pro-tec helmets are nice if your not wanting an aerodynamic alien helmet. The ACE model has lots of vents, I don't overheat in it...
