Yeah - that's the first good pic I've seen of HD/Heidi - is there a ton of pedal strike? It almost looks like it could strike standing upright!

She doesn't have a problem with pedal strike but it is SS. IMO the 165's it came with are too much for a bike this small. I might try to get her on some 155 or 160 xd's in the future.

Thats a Mark V right? If so it looks big, i've come to the conclusion that i need 59cm if it's a Mark V. im 5'11'' with a 33'' inseam, what about you?

Also what crankset is on the bike? Doesn't look like stock/IRO.

Hey, if you talk to Tony, tell him to fix all the places on the site that say "700cc" and "650cc". That's just embarrassing.

Ouch that is embarrassing. His number is 570-374-0653 so you have it as well.

ya its a 59cm Mark V. Im 6'1" with a 34.5 inseam. I have a 61cm Litespeed that is a little big for me. Based on this forum, I thought the 59cm might be too small, but it is perfect for me. And ya, that is the stock crank, in silver.

Ha! I just bought an IRO frame and fork and I am very put in over it. =]

onespeed89 07-02-08 06:05 PM

Post some pics up of the build man thats what this thread needs a build

f1x1e 07-02-08 07:22 PM

Yeah, you know what I will post step by step during the build. I do not know how much and how long it will take, I am not rich but it should be over some months. I am selling my car in the coming months and going strictly by bicycle transit. I bought the frame used for $200.00 and it is clean so let's see what I can do with it.

onespeed89 07-02-08 07:30 PM

Pick up some frame saver for it, that would be a wise choice IMO

f1x1e 07-02-08 08:57 PM

What is frame saver?

onespeed89 07-02-08 11:03 PM

goes inside the frame (spray it in) and it prevents rust/corrosion

The photo and the slant of the bike, along with the brake caliper, make that iro's headtube look warped.

cmogi10 07-05-08 03:58 PM

Hah I never saw that before...I can see it now though.

KrautFed 07-09-08 01:14 PM

I knocked the dust off my Mark V last night for first time in over 8 months (pulled hammie and my motorcycle got all my ). Just pumped up the tires and rode out for over 12 miles. Oh how I miss her.

I havent been on BF in over a year, is it just me or are flat bars all the rage now? They sure look purdy but I can't imagine trying to do my commute route with them. I need to change my drops out, but I'm going with bullhorns as those are what were one the triathlon training cycle I was on last year.

PS - When did Tony step up with a new website? Damn it looks nice.

geemac 08-07-08 06:55 PM

Found this on velospace... such a hot ride! I might just have to take a few styling cues and start saving my pennies...

All stock. Just got it a couple days ago...

theconquerorwor 08-08-08 08:44 AM

very nice! didn't you order that like a week ago?

are you happy with the sizing set up, based on the website description?

bionnaki 08-08-08 12:51 PM

I'm 5'10" with an in-seam of 31.5"

The TT of my 53cm steamroller is 54.7cm and seems slightly longer than I would like. The SO with the steamroller is 30.7 and is perfect.

I am looking at the Mark V Pro - what size should I get? I am thinking the 53 is about right. The SO on the 53 Mark V Pro is 30" and the TT is 54cm, but on the 56cm frame, the SO is 31" and the TT is 55.5cm.

Most people here seem to go with one size larger for IRO frames, but the 56 seems a bit too large.

suggestions?

I'm a shade under 5'11" with approx the same inseam. I ride a 59 Angus and it fits me perfect. The 56 might be a better fit for you.

bionnaki 08-08-08 02:11 PM

after more carefully remeasuring my inseam, I'm actually 31"...

I think the SO of the 56cm (31") would be too high. also, the TT of my steamroller at 54.7 (with a 90 stem) seems too large. That's why I think the 53cm would be a better fit with its 54cm TT.

hmm

At first I was looking at the smaller frame but according to the forums and the FAQ on IRO's site, the 56cm is the frame I need. I'm at 5'10.

kergin 08-08-08 04:52 PM

These bikes are so clean... love 'em.

theconquerorwor 08-08-08 05:53 PM

Random question:

Does anyone know if IRO frames are chased, faced or otherwise prepped before being sent out?

I guess I'm wondering if they do it with just a frame purchase, versus a complete build.

I wasn't sure if it was standard procedure to do this or not...
