Si senor, 57cm. Gracias.

Great bike you have. Just curious how tall are you and inseam? I am 5'11" with a 33 inch inseam, according to my measurements a 57cm would do it for me but the tope tube length would be better for me on a 59cm, according to Alien's chart. Just trying to get some ideas of size because the Alien is going to be my next bike.

Cheers!

5'10, not sure of my inseam.

Took this right after building it. I got it set with a matching rear Pro Race tire now... did a 40 mile ride on it today. I'm happy with the frame thus far, it's like any other track frame - buy one, set it up properly so that it fits like a glove and go zoom around the city. Simple formula...

Very nice looking bike!
What's the wheelset?

andre nickatina 10-31-08 03:35 AM

Gran Compe to Open Pro CD

+ 1. Nice work on that bike - I've seen you post in various threads about Open Pros, and think they look great.

I'm currently building up a set of silver OPs to Miche hubs. I've never ridden nice wheels like these before and after all of the good I've heard, I can't wait to get riding.

What seatpost is that?

Ackit 10-31-08 10:46 AM

Looks like an older Campy Aero ^^

530farm 10-31-08 03:06 PM

heres mine, just finished building it up real quick.... i'm in the process of trading out the velocity's for a pair of mavic open 4's just need to get a new rear hub... and bars aren't taped yet cuz i think i am gonna get a a different stem... i'll post update pics when i eventually finish it the way its suppose to be....

Best alien I've seen so far, it looks alot like mine... but its in white and my wheels are atlanta 96 on campy record new generation hubs.... other than that, same bike. Metallic baby blue is better than white.

(optical illusion : your fork is not attached to your front wheel)

edit: wait, what is that stem? it looks like it as more drop then my pearl and less than a jaguar...

speeed 10-31-08 06:21 PM

nice build, what kind of bars are those?

530farm 11-01-08 12:59 PM

The stem looks like the shallower (63 degrees?) steel jaguar (the steel ones come in two angles).

Get a pic of your bike :)

Stem is the steel Nitto Jaguar in the less steep drop variety. I like it, it seems to be about the same drop as the old Cinelli track stems.

And yeah the seatpost is an old Campy Chorus "Aero"

Nice! Is that matte black? I love alien bikes looking to get one myself. How did you go about your sizing. Did you go with the c-t or c-c measurement? I am 5'11" and looking to go with the 57 (c-t) size but wonder if that will be to small, I usually ride a 56 (c-c).

530farm 11-04-08 12:24 PM

i'm about 5'11.5" and got the 59 c-t it fits me really good... i'm glad i didn't go with the 57 if that means anything to you.

Adam G. 11-04-08 01:04 PM

Yes it does help out, thanks.

So that's a 55cm bike? It's georgous. What kind of rims?

Im pretty sure a 59 C-T alien would be a 57 C-C measurement. You can check on their site.

Adam G. 11-04-08 01:45 PM

57cm according to alien's measurement chart.

akaio 11-04-08 01:49 PM

Andre, how happy are you with your alien compared to the other rigs youve owned? Hows the weight and stiffness compared to the b'stone or concept?

Im in the market for a new frame. Alien is on my list, but their weight seems a bit higher than some. Im debating how itll hold up to sprinting at alpenrose. And I dont know if I want to go aluminum cause I want to get some longer road rides in too.

radiocontrolhea 11-04-08 01:57 PM

Bike looks great. I was thinking about picking up a 55cm it seems like the 57cm is more for my height (5'11)?

Thats probably right if you are of average proportions. Alien bikes use a C-T measurement on sizing which in effect makes their bikes run small. Subtract 2cm from it and you have the C-C measurement that most other companies use.
