Yeah that's the only stem I had. I have to wait until payday to buy a new one with a shorter stem length. I can't stand it that high.

daybreak 08-27-08 05:32 PM

because everyone's going to be riding these bikes on a track, right.

stevefaletto 08-27-08 05:37 PM

no i'm comfortable thanks.

whoever asked about clearcoating, i just did 4 layers of auto clear spray paint 15 minutes apart after wiping it down with metal prep stuff. no sanding in between

i would way rather see a high stem with drops/flopchops instead of a drop stem with risers... as long as the bars don't go higher than the seat, what's the worry?

Thanks for the answer, Steve. It looks great with the raw metal. How is the clear coat durability so far?

Here's a bunch of pictures of one: (not mine)

aesthetics, my friend, aesthetics.

high stem like that looks plain bad on that kind of a bike, and why would anyone buy 'a real track frame with tight geometry' and then set it up like a commuter/cruiser? Ok, that's like a rhetoric question on this forum, I guess.

oh and guys, your bike builds do look very nice, except for those stems.

I like my commuter bike to have tight geometry for maneuvering between cars and through shortcuts, but I also want it to be comfortable. Function over form for my bike. I hit the gym for aesthetics.

uh, are those the colors offered by alien? where is espresso in the paint chip selection? is that the orange sparkle, green sparkle? i mean, the colors are absolutely amazing, but i never would have guessed that's how the green would have turned out (more of a minty green). love that espresso too.

andre nickatina 08-28-08 04:02 PM

i really like that sparkly blue. may do that for my frame...

I was going to do a custom color. I emailed Joseph about it. As long as you can supply the RAL color code, the PC guy can most likely do the color for you, granted he has that color is stock. Additional charges may apply, if the color is hard to get, or he has to order it. That is what Joseph told me.

maldekai 10-10-08 02:27 PM

Those sparkle colours are really pretty and I'm excited they look so sharp. I ordered an alien and blindly choose sparkle orange because I couldn't find any high resolution pictures of the different colors. Anyway, pics to come once the frame escapes from the PC studio!

Rootberry 10-10-08 02:40 PM

The geo on these bikes are aggressive. I'm looking for something to replace my rusted out iro, but I'm not sure how comfy that frame would be setup for ~20 mile into town. Anyone have one of these after a mark V? What did you think?

andre nickatina 10-11-08 12:04 AM

I just got my frame, and I opted for the blue sparkly powdercoat like in the picture above. It's actually pretty sick, it shifts from a darker blue in the shade to the bright blue in the sun.

jaywhy 10-11-08 09:03 PM

^pics?

maldekai 10-12-08 09:00 PM

All of my components have come in and are sitting in my room without a frame. It is absolute torture for them and me. :0 I'm kind of frustrated because I have been waiting a lot longer than Joseph estimated, but I guess I understand because it 's really dependent on how long it takes PC to get his **** done.

*i'm actually glad it's not here yet because I have midterms all next week and if I got the frame now, by GPA would suffer miserably :P

Took this right after building it. I got it set with a matching rear Pro Race tire now... did a 40 mile ride on it today. I'm happy with the frame thus far, it's like any other track frame - buy one, set it up properly so that it fits like a glove and go zoom around the city. Simple formula...

This is why I love ya! no bull crap and starry eyed antics just the honest truth that we all know. Absolutley beautiful build and a great bike, props and thanks for not trying to make it sound like it's the most revolutionary thing to grace pavement! It's nice to not only have someone else who sees it for what it is but also someone less than an 1/8 mile down the road. By the way I'm getting ready to smoke you this next season...( in all reality I realize that your gonna kick my @$$ but still talking smack on the internet after a few is still fun, right?)

andre nickatina 10-28-08 01:51 AM

wait, what session? you trying to ride? or RACE! haha.

Live2Die 10-28-08 10:01 AM

season not session, as in Alpenrose. And as for racing I think I only ever see your bike parked, or in pictures so I figure you don't actually ride... ;)

radiocontrolhea 10-28-08 10:28 AM

I'm guessing this is a 57 cm? Great build.

andre nickatina 10-28-08 01:17 PM

Si senor, 57cm. Gracias.
