Rather than using Elmers to glue on the gold leaf (Elmers is not waterproof), you should see about getting a low-buck electroplating kit. The kit includes plating solution, swabs, and electrical wires/leads. You supply the battery. The kits are designed for small projects like car emblems and jewelry, but will work very well on bicycle lugs and small part such as bolts, nuts, springs, and such.

Green & Gold is one of my favorite combos, but this one looks better... Maybe it's because I don't like the bullhorn look...(?) Nice work though. |
I agree the blue is very nice, but I wanted something different and something that I can do. Luckily the bike is not expensive and if I want I could paint it back to blue.

my personal opinion is that the bike would look perfect if you had left the blue the gold leaf is a little strange it it came out nice it wuold be cool. why not gold rusto? their gold spray paint is really good just mask it and paint.
