Well I started out with a 73 Azuki Racer.

Did my conversion and some other little mods.

Then I decided to to a complete tare down and rebuild.
I media blasted the whole bike. Painted it Hunter Green then decided to do something different.

let me know what you think, still have to put the front brakes back on and the grip tape. Also Im painted a fine black line on the edges where the gold meets the green. And do some clean up and touch up on it

Nice job on finding a way to make it different, and doing it yourself. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Now that's a custom bike!

Thirded on black detailing. Obviously it is impossible to get a perfect edge with gold leaf due to flaking and glue distribution, etc. Just practice first!! and a nice line around the lugs will do you well.

im trying to estimate a price for my conversion and im tring to figure out how much i can plan on spending. i saw you got a new wheel set instead of just replacing the back wheel. how much did it cost to do the basic conversion? before you painted it and all that.

initially it cost me $200. That was for the wheels,cog and labor

No I like the Bullhorns. I took an old set of drop bars and cut them. I also have another set of drop bars that I will use.

You spend over $60 on a brooks, spend $20 on a real seatpost. Seriously. It's like sending your kid to school with stained underwear.

wait, so you kept the same sproket for the 10 speed and the 200 was just for the new wheel set?? how much did you put into it overall? because it looks pretty good.

leave the little american flags on the new wheels. i like those.

at first I kept the original crank but then later replaced it with the Pake crank($90ish)

so to get it the way it was before this build was no more then $320. But you could ride the bike perfectly like in the picture here

Its not high if the frame is on the small side. I only have one bike that really fits all the rest look like that.
