not the same frame. it looks like they took the seat tube from the felt s22/s32 and bonded that to the track rear end, and changed the head tube angle. more than new wheels and paint.

the wheels are heavy (i have a set of the ttr-2 road wheels), but are pretty strong and, according to an unofficial felt guy on slowtwitch, very aero. better than mavic cosmic carbones.

wait, did i just mention slowtwitch in the ss/fg forum? uh oh.

The chain, frame and I think tires are better too.

The Tk3 is clearly coming in to replace the old tk2 as an entry level track bike and I would assume would be almost if not equal to last years price. Look at road bikes the new ones are getting worse components for the same price. I don't see felt building a completely different frame, throwing better components on it and only charging a couple hundred more.

Light cranks/bb, Al bars, shortish cf seatpost, light saddle, hollow axles. Nothings incredibly weight weenie about it that's just how much Al track bikes weigh with moderately light components most places.

Why does it have a rainbow and WC on the tt?

yep. (although rereading my post, i can see the confusion). i am saying that they changed the angle on the head tube on the s22 frame. i am not sure how they assemble the tubes, but if you look at the seat tube here, you will see the similarities:

i was saying that they take that frames seat tube (and who knows, maybe even the whole main triangle) and change the headtube angle from 73 degrees/install the track rear end. the h.a. on the s22 is 73, not 75. sorry for confusion.

Yeah I was thinking entire old tk2 with that st swapped out. The tt and dt were probably already the same anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I agree, 16 lbs is pretty normal for an Aluminum track bike. Even without any carbon. Mine is 17 lbs with fenders, a front brake, heavy Mavic CXP22's and Formula hubs.

Steel adds a lot of weight.
