Bikes: 2 fixies, 1 road, 29er in the works.

calling you to hold it too.

In reference to this thread.. Hold the Mayo

There's now a call out for art/photos. I hate to do it, but first and foremost; guidelines for ALL submissions:

Black and white/gray scale.
Must be your original, un copyrighted work. (And if used, you will do a statement to that effect).
No @@$## huge in size.
Should be "in theme" with the works of Mayo.

Define in theme? ahh.. use your judgment.
Here are the titles of the stories (search and read):

Cycles
This Monkey's Gone To Heaven
You're My Meat
Soil Falling Over My Head
It's Like A Jungle Sometimes
Here Are The Young Men
don't look back

Instructions:

DO NOT post them here.
PM me, an I'll send you a PM with my email address.
All submissions will be reviewed. If not used, you still get love.
I'm not the filter, the judge, or the eliminator, so they will get through and considered.
Due date: PM due to me by 2 pm PST (west coast, USA) on Monday, March 8th. All emails will have to be received by 730 a Tuesday, March 9th.

The moment you shoot the picture it's copyrighted to you, the artist/photographer. However, if you work for a company and have a contract, usually a "work for hire" or something like it, then they can own the copyright.

I'm sure that's what you meant...I'm just messing with you.

I work for a newspaper, as a photojournalist, and technically they own the copyright even though I shoot the pix.

Remember the Oklahoma City bombing picture of the firefighter with the child? That was a HUGE issue (read: litigation, etc.) for a long time because the photographer was just some dude who had a company camera with him...he wasn't a journalist.

I'm not sweating details like that... that's a photag's issue. Really, I don't want cut, paste of other peoples work, i.e. not your own.

Thank you for the insight.

Yeah, the copyright infringement issue can bite you in the butt pretty badly.

The $$$ per image is based on potential/actual views on the printed material...that $$$ is in the thousands per image per view. Which can generate a ton of liability...

I was just messing with your description earlier, not trying to imply that you'd snag stuff illegally.

Preface?

Is there a need?

Why bother?

Keeping it understated is the intent?

Index?

Do we need one?

Isn't that akin to index shifting?

The anti thesis of the theme?

Do we want one?

No, because he's missing certain appendages that would allow him to complete that task. That is to say, he's fixed.
