How can I shut up, when I'm not really speaking?
Dur.

mastershredder 09-20-08 04:30 AM

awesome video. don't wanna open a can of worms but what gear ratios are those dudes riding?

sleepy 09-20-08 04:36 AM

it's either 3/18 or 30/88.
Or, look at the terrain, look at the spin, look at the size of their drivetrains [naughty!]. Different pedalstrokes for different folks.

I wonder if he was prepping for the Nike MASH clothing line coming up this fall. All of your favorite windbreakers, sneakers, and shorts, MASH ridden, Armstrong approved!
Gobble it up, you failed BMXers! This Anal refuse is sure to skyrocket on the Ebay!

He sold out riding a fixed gear and just having fun with the MASH crew? I think it is just the opposite, he took the time to ride with these guys then took them in to his house, far from selling out.

Sold out to who and from what?

He is a professional athlete who endorses a bunch of stuff. The horror.

I've heard he can be a dick in person, but the guy is a cycling god and he is important to the cancer community.

I have to admit, I enjoyed the vid.

Just cause you hate doesn't make you great. You're one of those idiots who likes to slam on what everyone else likes as if it makes you cooler. Guess what... it doesn't. YOU STILL SUCK!

I know you're joking, but no ones laughing.

All this is getting ruined by these jackasses and the publicity from the video. If I was a cop, I'd force them to put on a 7-speed MegaRange cassette, two U-brakes, and GripShift's lowest level twisters, and a Hannah Montana helmet. Let's them parade around town on that setup.

Whatever, if people lack the intelligence that they make blanket statements about an entire group based on a small, isolated amount of incidents, I could care less about dealing with them or their beliefs. Case in point, I get cut off or put into sketchy situations all the time by inattentive drivers, especially ones on cell phones. Yet I don't go blabbering all day like some mindless jerk about how "all drivers are sooo bad!" and how "cars are coffins".

And I'll be laughing all the way to the bank when they're getting ***** by car insurance and oil companies while I pay for yogurt and PBJ to fuel my ride.

People are actually serious about some dude from MASH dropping Lance Armstrong.

!!!!!

Yes. But then, this place is full of humorless tracktards, so it's a given.
Good crust, what am I doing here? I must be bored.

good, why don't you get the puck out?

garretts wheel is an older zipp wheel if I recall correctly. I talked to ranier, emi, and dirt about their experience riding with lance, and they had a great time in Texas. The all said lance is (as one would imagine) fast as hell, and were quite humbled and honored by the chance to pedal around with him. I've never been a big armstrong fan, but im happy to hear he's human enough to ride with the mash kids.

and to respond to an earlier comment a few pages back, some of the mash crew are messengers, and some of them arent.

If you guys missed the interview, some of the MASH guys also own road bikes / do distance rides.

I go nuts if I only ride one bike for too long.

andre nickatina 09-21-08 02:21 AM

For sure. I'm hoping that after I get my road bike I will have more fun and a deeper appreciation for both sides of cycling - freewheel and fixed. Right now it's a joy everytime I hop on a friend's roadie, but if I had one that fit me equipped with clipless... oh man, the fun I would have pedaling that thing down hills in 53x14...

I envy the people with a road, track and cross bike in their collection.

I'd probably use the cross bike for whatever I'd use the 29er on... and whatever I couldn't use it on, dismount and run!

lance doesn't have much of a sprint, he even admits it in his first book

I'd think it ironic for you to die of colon cancer.

wrong.

he's had that wheel for years. it's either a zipp or hed.

clink83 09-21-08 04:12 PM

I'm pretty sure that Lance Armstrong has logged more miles on a fixed than you would think. Hipsters aren't the only ones who ride fixed gears ya know.

What's so cool about the Mash crew? (I get the Lance part, fair enough)
but I don't get the "riding fast as hell through traffic and red lights like I don't care" so much fun..

Anyone willing to share the coolness?

I'm with you. To be honest, I will feel sorry for the driver that kills one of these guys because it probably won't be the driver's fault.
