Not usually a fan of zombies but when you answer an 11-year-old thread to say Campy cranks are ugly, I'm down.

Some bike stuff is priced on BS, but some stuff is fairly priced.
Sugino 75 cranks are made from cold forged aluminum and machined to be super concentric. The square taper penetration is extremely precise also, and is dimensionally spot on for JIS.
The simple fact that Sugino also makes cranks cheaper, also points to the fact that the more expensive 75's might be something better/different. Not all companies have this distinction, but Sugino does.
When you hold a set of Sugino 75's or Miche Primato etc. cranks in your hand, you will see the difference.

That stamp isn't indicative of some upper tier of quality, but rather a minimum floor of tolerance.
It just means that the equipment was approved to be ridden on a track.
I never understood the keirin hype back then. But I had just come from the BMX world so I was into a different vibe.
I did very seriously consider getting some brightly colored deep V's. Still remember sitting in the FULL ROOM I was renting, paying what I would be lucky to get a closet space for nowadays, looking at the old Velocity website with all the colored options on full display on my brand new laptop. I saw all sorts of interesting people all over the str33ts too. But alas, I rode my bike by myself most of the time in some weird vaccum of being alone in a densely populated area.
Still some of the best days of my life.

NJS is just an equipment standard put in place to make sure no rider has an edge over others due to their equipment, for gambling's sake.
